North Stand Construction Discussion

Hope the wife is okay. A bit of a bugger - sounds like you’ll have to cook your own tea for a few days !!!!
Thanks nmc will be a bit longer than that mate. I'll need 2 of me will still get regular updates of the build though mate. Cheers

If they do it would mean that all storage or lifting of the remaining lengths of roof beams and other longer items is restricted to the eastern side only.

Currently they are using that space between the two and it is split between the two zones, east for west for west halves of the stand.
Ahh, for some reason I had it in my head that the end of the beams would be done from pitchside.

They could be, I don't know. Just feels like they'd be condensing too much into the off-season if that were the case.

But then again, we are nearly there now anyway so might end up being that by default.

Probably already answered but what's the thinking on the commercial building connection to the stadium? Once the remaining 7 stays are connected will they crack on?
At the Sisk even they said that they wouldn't be able to do the connection until the new roof supports are tensioned

They’ve just been using the space to store roof parts inc the cables. Not only that but the building has only just reached the top anyway. They’ll start connecting soon enough.

Sisk and Manchester City Football Club marked a significant milestone in the development of the Club’s £300m entertainment destination, as we celebrated the topping out of the project, with the installation of the final steel on site.

The topping out ceremony signifies the completion of the highest structural point of the development, which upon completion will increase the stadium’s capacity to over 60,000, create a new covered 3,000-capacity fan zone, and introduce a state-of-the-art museum experience.

Alan Rodger, : "We have achieved some very visual planned milestones recently including quad pod steel and façade installations, and the project is gathering real momentum heading into the football off-season. We would like to thank all our staff, supply chain partners, designers and consultants for helping us reach this stage and we look forward to the next phase of the project.”

I was just looking at Everton’s new stadium and it struck me how nice the surrounding floor looked…all the same and looked something like white marble.

When the building work has finished on ours will we do something similar or are we keeping the patchwork quilt of tarmac concrete and felt in different shades of blue green grey and black?
