Southampton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Jesus wept, glad you lot didn't go today and left it to those that support the team properly.
Yes it wasn't great today but FFS get a grip.
 
We started off with bad selection. Get the wide players like Doku and Savinho on at the start and that opens Southampton up. It also tires them. We were too narrow down the centre today and Southampton loved it. Yes we had the possession and control but we had to win that game. Marmoush could have started ahead of Erling who could have come on in the second half at some point.

This let's Villa back in who can now get 69 points, Forest can get 70 and Newcastle 72 assuming Chelsea drop points against Newcastle and Forest... . But even Chelsea can get 72 points if they win their remaining 3 games . Actually Chelsea would do us an enormous favour by winning their 3 remaining games as they play Newcastle & Forest.

It all means we MUST win our last 2 games. 71 points No slip ups

He's a strange player for sure, shocking leader of the line and far too often he is happy to do little or nothing.
 
Half arsed, embarrassing performance. Why change so much from a team on a winning run? Get the game won with the players in form, then bring the others on if needed to give them some game time (like Haaland) and see the game out.

Absolutely no flow to the team in that first half. It's then difficult to pick up with 1 or 2 subs.

Great preparation for a Cup Final. Top 5 should have been sealed pretty much today and now we've opened it up.

They do have the right to be bitterly disappointed with this result - but with some, it degenerates to sounding like our delighted opponents on talkshite.
We’re still on track for CL & FA cup

We can all recognise that a rebuild is needed - without suddenly forgetting our huge successes as recently as last season

Even Roy Keane has commented that a drop off & rebuild is normal after the last 5 years of winning 4 PL; CL etc etc etc

Being disappointed should not mean we turn on the manager; club & players

I like him as a bloke but think he has serious limitations in a Pep team. It's like playing with 10 and then hoping he'll get on the end of something.
New manager with a more attacking mindset I think he could shine. Bit if Pep persists with this possession at all costs then we'd be better off selling him and using the money wisely.

Pep is absolutely ruled by sentiment. He can't let the old guard go.

Hes not ruthless enough in the team selection.
