Southampton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Let this sink in rags win Europa league (qualifyfor champions league)we miss out on champions league and end up in Europa league and it all came about because we were half arsed in a Cup Final against that shower of cnuts..
You know that the chasing pack have to face each other at one point

I'd argue that having the best striker in the world is a plus for city and perhaps we don't bore him to tears every game by ignoring his runs and instead having a midfielder doing a pirouette in the middle before giving it to akanji, to give it back to the pirouetted player to give it wide after a pirouette to then get it back and then lob the ball in and hope for the best.
Haaland is a great goalscorer not a great footballer. If we are NOT going to play a more aggresive, higher risk chance creating (i.e. balls over the top, early crosses, full backs/wingers getting to the byline) type of football then he is a complete misfit. It's a credit to his talent that he has done so well.

Sorry Ruben... as a team we didn't do enough. They came for a point and they got a point.

You either as a team suck it up and perform against what's in front of you. Or you sign your death warrant and say our pattern of play isn't working against teams that play like this we need to change the way we play.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results

Haaland was a scorer of brilliant goals, definitely not a brilliant player. He needs to be in a team that plays without fear that can afford to carry him every game.

Harry Kane was the player Pep wanted and who we needed, not Haaland. He's a genuine stat padder whose name isn't worthy of mention in the same story as Sergio Aguero.

That’s a bit harsh but I know where you’re coming from and I agree with the general sentiment.

We did try and hit a few from the edge of the box, unfortunately it was usually Akanji. This is the problem
Exactly, why are we setting ourselves up to have akanji or dias having a pop. Surely we are smart enough to have a kev, Phil, kovacic, ready to hit one on the edge

100%. He deserves better than this side to side nonsense that makes little use of his strengths. If Pep stays Erl should go cos he’s such a talent it’s obscene to have him fester at City.

Not sure what Dias expected from a bottom of the table side. The team should be used to it by now.

0-0 Man City

Manchester City

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias: "It's frustrating to play against a team like them. They don’t even try to play, just wasting time the whole game.

"I don’t even feel like they want to play the game or win the game. They are just sitting around. We tried every way. We had chances but we didn’t score. It is what it is."

I’ve never said that Haaland should be ditched. I said that I don’t think Pep is getting the best out of him, something you have just commented on.
Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that you'd said it. I meant the ones on here who do :-)
(I should have selectively 'quoted' not replied, but after today's performance I couldn't be arsed)

Exactly mate. Remember when Phil used to sit on the edge of the box and fire them in?
