Actually, against the 2nd worst team in PL history, we managed on average 1 shot on target every 20 minutes...

Being positive, over the winter we would have lost that to their only shot on target. So we are getting slightly better.

That's a pretty low bar, to be fair. Their academy side would probably have beaten us between october and january.

The epitome of the match for me was when McAtee was subbed, I'd forgot he was even playing. We have too many players who are hiding and doing the safe option of passing back constantly, as opposed to trying to make a difference.

Agree on the passing backwards safe options and this is on Pep, if it was upto me I wouldn’t have my wide players tracking back, let them attack constantly, tactics are outdated.

It is still in our own hands. 2nd place was a too bigger step at this stage even if we did manage to get the win vs a Southampton team hell bent in damage limitation.

On the rather overcrowded train home now. Lots of effort from the team, just no quality left in the tank where it matters in that attacking 3rd. Haaland isolated and as usual under utilised.

We need to find a way of getting him involved. This turgid shit we have been playing all season is not it.

Tell me one game where a team defended 5-4-1 or any other dogged defence where he was anything but average at best, but most of the times just useless. Only if you serve him on the plate! Even coming back to pick up the ball doesn't work because defence just does not budge and stay in position. It worked when we had 9 outfield players playing with intensity, accuracy and effort, when Kev had a laser vision, when we had players capable of taking defenders one on one creating spaces and drawing defenders out of position. Never was team Halland but I am just getting annoyed, we are turning into Spurs with our CF scoring average 30 and we are almost winning nothing.
