I agree, but we’ll likely keep trying to play it as most of our batsmen don’t have the patience or technique to build an innings.Bazball is over.

Playing like a 20/20 game….I agree, but we’ll likely keep trying to play it as most of our batsmen don’t have the patience or technique to build an innings.
5 Tests v India will be interesting.I agree, but we’ll likely keep trying to play it as most of our batsmen don’t have the patience or technique to build an innings.
Just the full works then.So much wrong with this Lancashire team. Need an opener, a number 5 batsmen, the keeper needs to drop down to 6, a spinner who can actually turn the ball, and a quick who can give out a bit of chin music and see off the tail.
Fancy the coaches job?So much wrong with this Lancashire team. Need an opener, a number 5 batsmen, the keeper needs to drop down to 6, a spinner who can actually turn the ball, and a quick who can give out a bit of chin music and see off the tail.
Was there a specific reason why George Bell was playing at the top of the innings for this game? We certainly do need an opener. So much wrong with this Lancashire team. Seeing that Lancashire are bottom of division 2, I'd wager that I would do a better job than the current incumbent.Fancy the coaches job?
They signed Jones from Durham, no Idea if he's injured or not, think he played the first 3 games didn't do much and Bell had played the last 2.Was there a specific reason why George Bell was playing at the top of the innings for this game? We certainly do need an opener.
Anyway, wouldn’t take issue with any of that.
They’ve moved Wells down the order to add experience lower down. That’s a bit pointless when you try to welly every ball out of the park. They signed Jones from Durham, no Idea if he's injured or not, think he played the first 3 games didn't do much and Bell had played the last 2.
He's been poor so far, his 12 in the first innings was about as bad a 12 as it's possible to get. Dropped on 0, dropped on 12, then caught for 12.They’ve moved Wells down the order to add experience lower down. That’s a bit pointless when you try to welly every ball out of the park.
No it won't5 Tests v India will be interesting.
Lancs managed to throw away a strong position about 4 times during the match. The other problem Lancs seem to have is the consistency over the duration of the 4 day game. Yesterday was a good, competitive hard day''s cricket with Lancs having the edge overall but when asked to repeat that today, they just can't do it. Before the game I was worried about the length of our tail and the double whammy was that Northants tail wagged.
The good news is that Jimmy is 'a week or so away' and looks like we still need him to polish off tailenders at the very.least!
No big surprise, a very poor team at the moment.Lancs managed to throw away a strong position about 4 times during the match.
I understand that Jones is not involved due to personal circumstancesThey signed Jones from Durham, no Idea if he's injured or not, think he played the first 3 games didn't do much and Bell had played the last 2.
Just checked and Jones was in the 13 so he's been dropped for Bell.
A new signing, given a 3 year contract, and dropped after 3 games, makes sense.
Anderson doesn't want to play or he would be.Lancs managed to throw away a strong position about 4 times during the match.
Had Northants 60 odd for 6 first innings.
Lancs 220 odd for 4 first innings.
Northants 140 for 6, and 180 odd for 8, 2nd innings.
Lancs 115 for 2, 2nd innings.
How the hell you lose a game of cricket by 70 runs after being in so many good positions is beyond me.
They need Jimmy in the dressing room, as much as out in the middle. Standards are so poor.
I agree with most of that but not that Anderson doesn't want to play. He's not going to get gigs in franchise cricket, he's not going to be short of money, so he has no need to fuck Lancs about.Anderson doesn't want to play or he would be.
Played 1 game last year for LCCC in Birkdale in warm up for his final England game. Only 2 games last summer.
Daniel Gidney spelt it out in his end of season interview last year. They can't make any player play in the County Championship who doesn't want to. Even Luke Wood played zero games for England in 2024, on an all formats contract but played zero games in the CC. There are other examples but he is the most obvious. The money they get for playing a whole season in the CC is surpassed by playing 3 days in the Bangladesh Premier League.
The club's priorities are making a profit, and they are doing extremely well at that (including gigs and ECB games), The Hundred then T20. Only Surrey CCC pay up to the salary cap out of all Counties, LCCC clearly could do given the profits made but it is a business decision not to.
The club are not really interested in the CC, the better players don't want to play in it once they have franchise games, and the fans don't turn up, and the latter has been the case when doing well too. Members are near mutiny but the CE is doing a good job if you ignore the cricket results and look at the financial ones, and that is what they are doing. It is more a venue than a cricket club now.
