Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

Yep. Way too long. Decades too long even.

Expect a lot of this in the coming weeks/months/years:

"I have supported Israel, pretty much at all costs, but today, I want to say that I got it wrong,

This is not only this parliament not greatest hour, I'm really concerned that this is a moment in history where people look back, where we've got it wrong as a country.

Can the minister stand up to our friends and allies in the united states and make a strong stand for humanity? For us to be on the right side of history? For the moral courage to lead, not just to follow the united states?

That's why we're all elected here. Let's stand up for life."

More israel accounts who have been pro genocide throughout the last 18 months are changing their tune too

It's hard to even give these politicians an ounce of credit for realising they fucked up. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been slaughtered and land stolen and now they are suddenly changing sides. They are only now coming to terms that they are going to be on the wrong side of history.

A recent Gallup poll showed popular support in the U.S. for Israel is at its lowest ever and for the Palestinians its highest ever. More people, however, still support Israel than the Palestinians. Not sure what the current UK position is but I am personally at a loss to understand why our government still supports what is effectively genocide. Netanyahu is a criminal.

Lies and complicity.

The Department for Business and Trade, which oversees British arms exports, refused to specify what the deliveries contained. A UK government spokesman instead told Drop Site, “In September, we suspended export licenses to Israel for items used in military operations in Gaza. Our remaining licenses relate to non-military items, military items for civilian use or not for use in military operations in Gaza, or components for items for re-export to other countries.”

But the Israeli authorities categorized the items delivered as “Bombs, Grenades, Torpedoes, Mines, Missiles And Similar Munitions Of War And Parts Thereof.”

Our own country continues to lie to our own people so we continue to participate in the ongoing Israeli genocide that is currently starving 2 million people to death whilst continuing to bomb civilians on a daily basis. Fransesca albanese has called it out (this link contains a video that is NSFW - it contains very small children with their school backpacks on who have been bombed) here.

The text in her tweet reads:

"Israel is committing daily massacres while starving Gaza. Impossible to rigorously monitor and document every incident, with the dozens casualties involved: each massacre becomes history within 24 hours.
Right now, focusing on anything else than genocide greenlights the genocide."

7 weeks since israel broke the ceasefire that would have ensured all hostages were returned by the way - a surprise massacre that slaughtered hundreds of women and children on march 18th.

In other news in todays daily israeli genocide update - New prison dog abuse video just dropped. 'The most moral army in the world':

But obviously more important than all of that - anyone got an update on Kneecaps terrorism?

I think the problem you are having is that you have only really been posting in this thread for the last few months.

Those who have been posting here since the start have had to point out to people the fallacies in others' arguments since day one. (Edit: Sorry, fat fingers posted too soon).

The "Israel couldn't respond in any other way" cunts are a case in point, now that they understand what is really going on they have all disappeared.

The point you are trying to make falls into the same sort of category and I don't think people have the strength to explain it all in detail any more in view of what is going on.
I just wish he’d fuck off too.

Watched that documentary on C4 last night and couldn’t view to the end due to how angry I was getting. Utterly shameful and the arrogance of the Israeli soldiers…..

Anyone who still clings to the view that October 7th was the catalyst for all this we now see is deluded.

This has been going on for decades and the world is complicit in its silence.

Louis thereux article on his documentary The Settlers in the guardian today:

"The scholar and writer Hamza Yusuf said on X that the outrage over everything depicted in The Settlers “says a lot about how well the media has shielded the public from the brutal reality of Israel’s occupation”. As proud as I am of the film, I know that our documentary could never capture the full impact of what is unfolding in the West Bank. The reality of the displacement and harassment is often in interactions that are more extreme than those I saw.

So I am grateful for the reaction. I encourage people to read and consume more on the subject. I’m glad we were able to show as much as we did. I also wish we could have shown much more."

Lawyers for the UK govt. are about to state to the High Court that they are above the law.
On Tuesday a court case brought by a Palestinian Human Rights Group and backed by UK HR groups will start.
They state that UK law prohibits the sales of arms and their components to countries committing genocide, I.e. Israel.
The govt accept it is illegal to do so but as it is more important to supply israel with parts for the F35 fighter jets than comply with the law.
The case was due to be heard in September last year, 90 minutes before it started the government suspended 30 arms export licences relating to Israel but refused to suspend this one.

Starmer like Trump believes he is above the law, where they differ is Starmer puts money (and political allies) above the murder of innocent children

Shame on the government and all who support genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Laissez faire?

No, it's deliberate and entirely engineered.

"According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, over 70,000 children are now hospitalized with acute malnutrition, and 1.1 million lack the daily minimum nutritional requirements for survival.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported that, as of May 5, at least 57 children have already died from malnutrition-related health complications since the start of the war, and another 3,500 under the age of five face imminent risk of death from starvation."

We need the equivalent of the Berlin Airlift. Cyprus is a good base for it. Britain and the EU should organise it forthwith. Israel would be unlikely to shoot down food carriers.
