TV Series

Seconded. Narcos and Narcos Mexico are both superb.

This City Is Ours was very enjoyable, though. All the cast were very good, especially James Nelson-Joyce, who comes across like a scouse version of Burt Lancaster in it.

Finished watching Taboo for the first time after recommendations on here.

Not bad. But Hardy's grunting and stomping around in his big hat got a bit boring after a while. Can see why they never did season 2.

Also included a lot of my 2nd pet hate in film/TV after dodgy accents...

...actors who come out of water then appear bone dry a few minutes later!

Loved it watched the series 3 times! They did say season 2 will finally come out when no idea because season one was out 2017

Apart from the actual talking through the episode and its reveals, the end discussion about 'Cyril' onwards makes every point I thought about.

Also, I can't recall an episode being talked about and impacting so many commentators before. I've been shocked by the amount of understanding of the dirty side of war and how 'Star Wars' itself, when brought into 'realism', is brutal, not fun or jokes.

With that said, I've also seen a prominent 'Star Wars' fanboy absolutely swear down this show has desecrated what the fandom for the lore is about.

Me, meself? I, much, prefer this grittiness.

If the critical drinker likes it, it must be good.

I'm not a fan of 'TCD', but he's right here (must be a stopped clock?). I was also at the point when 'CD' said the show's writing was losing him. I was unsure how I felt with Tony Gilroy's writing on the first 3 eps and found that Beau Willimon next three seemed to piggyback that still until the 'Guerra' speech.

Dan Gilroy's writing for the recent three (7, 8 & 9) was pretty exceptional using the previous three arc for the married tension. All that means nowt if not captured by commited actors on the screen and they all played their part.

Pretty much perfect TV that I have for an award laden haul come the globes season.

Last of us series 2. I must be missing something, it's the dullest telly I've watched in ages.
Maybe you have to have played the game to appreciate it?
Nothing seems to happen for large chunks, it's a bit boring.
Finding a guitar and tuning it by ear in back to back episodes is just lazy and careless writing.
None of the characters are particularly convincing either.
I keep watching it just in case something else happens other than we stumble across some zombies and kill them.

I'm struggling also. Played the games, loved them. Loved the first series. Really struggling with the second. Am sure it must pick up but we're spending more time on love triangles than action, and it starting to drag a little.
