People worrying about this palace team is it the same palace that shipped 5 to us 5 to Newcastle and drew 1-1 at Southampton. And let's get it right look at the stats v villa shots s.o t possession corners pass accuracy all in villa's favour a freak result and that against a villa team out on there feet.

To be honest we should be beating Palace. I suspect what everyone's saying is that it's Pep that 's worrying people. After that incomprehensible team selection for Southampton, and then the even more incomprehensible reticence about changing up what so clearly wasn't working early in the second half.

1. Don't pick players who have been so patently out of form for weeks.
2. Don't pick players just coming back from injury and who usually take two or three games to get up to speed.
3. Don't pick players who have been among the greatest for us in the past, but who can only deliver one good game in three — or four — because their bodies simply can't answer the demands of a string of hell-for-leather games (and this will be one).

By all means keep all three categories on the bench for impact in the second half, as and when necessary.

Those principles seem simple enough.

Through a process of elimination using those 3 points, we may struggle to put out a team.

This was the team that destroyed palace a few weeks ago, admittedly were 2 down but even then we were playing some great stuff, wonder if pep will tap into the analysis of this game for Saturday??

Just because some people on the forum say they’re worried about Pep doesn’t mean everyone feels that way. City’s having a weaker season, so a bunch of wrods removed are venting their life frustrations wherever they can. But there are also plenty of smart people on the forum too.

This is what I've been thinking. People are very quick to blame Pep but IMO he hasn't really had much of a choice this season. Most everyone has been shite except Gvardiol and Haaland, and even both of them had their moments. People were screaming for him to play the youth in the winter months, and while obviously O'Reilly has proven good I think we can all agree that McAtee not being played was understandable.

The problem now is, it’s really difficult to pick a starting eleven now. In the past it seemed easy. I wouldn’t even start Haaland at the minute. Right back, holding midfield, wingers. Multiple options but non that you could say are definite

I'd cavaet McAtee a bit. He has made only a handful of starts, played out of position largely. Pep does this to a number of players and it sometimes works out (Delph, Zin, Cancello) but sometimes doesn't (Nunes, Rico). It is hard for a young lad to make an impact like this. Personally I think keeping home grown players who are reasonably talented as squad players is sensible...but only if you are willing to not ask them to do something they can't. Rico a case in point. He has been horrific in defence this year and got a lot of stick, but looks much better in MF

Fair, though I would argue Macca is almost at the age where he can't be considered a youth player anymore. I think he'll need to develop quickly if he wants to find a more permanent place in the team, as much as I'd hate to see a local lad leave

I don't usually back against City, but I'm going to be pissed off spending a load of cash to go to Wembley to see them lose again. So I've put £60 on Palace at 100/30; if they win, I'll at least get most of my money back. If we win, I'll be delighted and the £60 just becomes part of the cost of going. (And with bet365 early payout if they go two goals up (again) and we turn it around I still win)

100/30 sounds like a 90 minute price, so Palace winning in ET or on pens, means you’ll be more pissed off than you would without the bet….

That being said, I’m confident your £60 is gone and we’ll win 3-1.

Palace will be up for this. Is this their first final for years and years? They will be nervous all the way through the game unless they are 3 or 4 nil up!

We will be up for it, especially the younger and newer players in our team.
We've been here before, our pedigree should help us a little but we need to have the staying power throughout. Gundog, bernardo, Kevin need to be in their game.

Cmon city!

Never backed against City never will do
