Crumpet

Is there an official crumpet season, because I can't get enough between October and April,May to September don't touch them.
You can potentially switch to the Scottish crumpet over the Summer. Goes lovely with fresh fruit, jam and a bit of yoghurt.

Extend your crumpet consumption to year round.

The Scottish crumpet, keep this to youself I don't want ridiculed but I use them to cut out small circles and make smoked salmon and cream cheese bellinis, and yes they are a summer staple.

I thought this was a thread started by Roger Daltry and his experiences with the birds.

What a fucking letdown.

Hot, lots of butter, extra matured cheddar, topped with red pepper jelly. Plus the perfect side, a cup of tea.

cant get them down here, so, I have tried every recipie on tinternet to make some. I just cant get them to rise. Someone suggested that it was the high humidity?

As kids we used to toast them in front of our gran’s fire with a long toasting fork. She called them pikelets, which I think are slightly different.
You’d be lucky to find a coal fire these days.

Not the female type the type you toast, how do you like yours slightly toasted and soft or slightly burnt or even well burnt and with what toppings just butter or jam or cheese or even more weird toppings.
Well you say not the female type, but then your thread title betrays you. We all know by choosing the singular what you’re getting at, despite your protestations to the contrary. Anyone wanting to discuss the food would have called it Crumpets.
You’re a cheeky monkey you are.
