Crumpet

Only way is toasted until the bottom of it is firm, and smoother in real butter. I remember my late father holding the crumpets on a wire thing close to the fire back in the 60's. Don't have them often but when I do its overkill on the butter:-)

The connoisseurs way to have crumpets.

I used to do this over the gas hob with thick toast too, quick and lovely.
 
I’m sure crumpets were only on the shelves in winter I wonder if the foc,s on here remember and by the way I’m a foc
 
Not the female type the type you toast, how do you like yours slightly toasted and soft or slightly burnt or even well burnt and with what toppings just butter or jam or cheese or even more weird toppings.

I remember being an online training course while at home. For the ice breaker, we were asked to answer a number of questions, with one of them being "what did you eat for breakfast?" I left that answer to the end. I responded with "some crumpet and Colombian" and then held up my mug of coffee (for reference, it was Colombian). Complete silence. I thought it deserved better.
