Liam Delap

I like Delap but he is a fucking wanker to play against. Add to that him playing for united and we could have ourselves a lovely little pantomime villain over the next few years.
Exactly why I would hate him at those lot of all people.

On the other hand, with Palmer, Rogers, Fringpong, Delap so on, top PL teams are going to have City academy products. Good advertisement for the academy I suppose, though it would've been better if some of them where at City.

Dietmar Hamman. Players are regularly signed then loaned out in a single window.

Rules may have changed since then. That was some time ago. Then again, I could be completely wrong. No clue where I got this thinking from.

Edit: Sorry, I wasn't referencing a loan move, but being bought and sold twice in the same window.

I thought, again no idea why, that you could as long as they hadn't played a competitive game. May be bollox though FOC now.

No idea where I dreamt that shit up. I'll stop talking bollocks :)
Madrid have done it a few times iirc. The whole things is moot though with his relegation release clause.

It’s starting to get a little annoying how many youth players are now at top teams and better than what we appear to have in back up positions. Maybe Delap doesn’t fit in the bracket, but it’s still annoying.

Said in a previous thread just yesterday we need to start being more clever with selling youth. Add in a clause that states if thr buying club sell him to certain rival clubs then that 20% sell on jumps to 50%.

If they're selling him for £30m and we are pocketing £6m, they're getting £24m. with the proposed clause above they'd have to sell him for £50m to a united/dippers or whoever we name to get the same amount and then we are pocketing a pretty hefty £25m ourselves instead of a fairly inconsequential £6m. It's still not an entirely unrealistic figure for the buying club and we get a much better deal.

As it is we're losing too much money on these players and seeing rivals picking them up for good prices. Got to be better in that department. Hopefully Viana identifies it.
City...aka England's academy.

I wonder what needs to happen so we activate one of these buy back clauses because currently it feels like they need to have Palmer-esque season for us to do but for him we didnt put the clause in of course.
