Wigan beat us 1-0 in the FA Cup in 2018. Will Grigg got the winner. Pep Guardiola was in charge. Paul Cook was the Wigan manager.
Will Grigg's on fire is still ringing in my ears. Definitely pep was uncharged.
I could be wrong but a pep team hasn't lost to a side from a lower league since.

If these fuckers get CL football it will be a farce...
But imagine how bad those extra games against decent teams will make them in the league. I would ove it if they get drawn into a relegation battle

That's why Europa League winners shouldn't get in the Champions League. The 4th and 5th worst teams in the league in the final shows how low the Europa League standard is, proving the winner shouldn't be worthy of a champions league spot. The winner should just automatically get a spot in the same competition next year, unless they can qualify for the CL via the league.

All it does is diminish the quality of the champions league.

If they do win, they'll just be cannon fodder anyway, so it barely matters on that front, but it's the money they get and the ability to attract players to a champions league side, despite being nowhere near that level.

That goes for spurs too or any other team, so it's not just an anti United rant.

Although with Spurs, I do think it's just a poor season. A few right signings and someone who can get them playing and they'll probably be back up in the top half. I don't think it's a true representation of where Spurs are as a whole.

With the rags, it is. They're dog dirt.

Wasn't Amorin saying something about not wanting CL football next season because he thinks they are not ready?

How inspiring.

He's like Gollum with a split personality. Says one thing in an interview then in the next interview he completely contradicts himself. He speaks perfect English so he knows exactly what he's doing

they arent ready and if anything it will hamper them, they keep on talking about being able to attract players with a cl but there are plenty of teams with cl football and only a finite number of players and the majority of players would would significantly increase them quality wise would also be the targets of other clubs with cl football and just as much money, even with cl football they will be targeting the likes of cunha and delap who while being good players are not game changers.

The rags have been favoured all the way through their European challenge what with sendings off of other teams players etc.
Now they are in a final against a team with 2 of their best players out and a dodgy referee officiating.
Why bother even playing the game at all? May as well just give them the trophy now.

Other thing is just cos they might be in the champions league next season it doesn’t mean they will be the season after. They have demonstrated over the last decade they aren’t capable of consistently finishing top four. They might get some money from the champions league next season but it will make their season extremely difficult having to manage a game every few days from September to January with a squad as poor and thin as theirs.

There are better teams out there emerging such as Newcastle, Villa and Notts Forest who will improve once again leaving the rags in mid table. I fear for players such as Liam Delap going near United as he will get sucked up in the chaos that is going on with them and waste a good few seasons of his career when he could have been elsewhere.
