Can I just say not qualifying for the champions league isn’t the end of the world. I know that’s inconceivable to some of our younger fans. Nearly every top team goes a year or two out of 10 without qualifying and guess what? They survive. I’d much rather add another cup tomorrow than qualify for a tournament we most likely won’t be in a position to win. I’d rather rebuild slowly and get it right. I’m just going to enjoy another cup final and day out in the sunshine with my son, creating lifelong memories, rather than obsessing and worrying over something that in the long run, really isn’t that serious. Besides which, we probably will qualify quite comfortably. The over reaction to a point at Southampton is astonishing

just been checking the table out, am i correct in saying we could do with forest getting something at west ham, they lose and there not making CL so will have no interest in the chelsea home fixture, a win or draw keeps them in it so likely they may turn up versus chelsea
Thats my thought too.
They need to go into the final match against Chelsea knowing they have something to ay gor.
An arsenal win against Newcastle is also helpful.
Brings Newcastle within touching distance.

Pep's time with City has of course contained hundreds of instances of him changing a team that won the previous game. And of course more often than not we won the next game with the changed team because we're the most successful side ever in English football history thanks to our genius manager

You weren't bitching and crying about him changing the team in those instances were you
Hundreds name them?

No it’s not.

Did we look like scoring? Against the second worst side in premier league history and worst in nearly 20 years?

Wake up mate, that result was inexcusable.
The point was whether we could get a point at Fulham not that we played well at Saints. Can no **** read on this thread?

Yes entirely correct.

Disagree mate.

Look at United, Chelsea, Spurs.

When you are out of the CL there is no guarantee you ever get back in.

It can set a club back years because of the loss of revenue. Current players have their salary dropped, sponsors don't offer as much and current sponsors may even have clauses in their contract where they don't have to pay you as much.

Your top targets decide to go to another top team because as we know in football a career is short. Some players don't want to wait around playing Europa.

Also you end up in some cases having to pay more in wages to attract the better talent to convince them to come.

We still have Pep….

For 2 years.

The club are built from a revenue and expenditure perspective as a CL club, the Europa changes everything.
Sack Mac, Swales out…

We went to Rotherham
We won 1-0 and we went
Back into division one.
We’ve won the league
We’ve won Cup
We’ve been to Europe too
And….

Que sera sera
and all that

I take it you’re a fairly new Blue…don’t panic

It’s about attracting players to rebuild though isn’t it and we will not get the players we need if we can’t get champions league . You are right that we will probably not win it though .

Let’s face it though last minute goals and the post will be reason why we could champions league and tbh we haven’t been good enough and there should be a lot of conversations this summer as to why a team who only 2 years ago won the treble have been allowed to fall so far with absolute shit recruitment . We have sat in our laurels and are now seeing the extent I mean going from a team two years ago who destroyed Bayern and Madrid to panicking about beating fucking Fulham Bournemouth .
