Imagine for a moment this is a Formula 1 team. You have a car and you need 11 top class components to stand a chance of winning the next race, engine, brakes, steering, tyres, exhaust and so on. And you'll need those components every time you race to stand a chance of winning the title.
Now imagine your brakes are fucked very early into the season. You have replacements but they're not quite as good. Your steering rack goes, again you have a replacement but again it's not quite as precise, not quite up to the same standard. You lose the race.
As the season goes on you're doing what you can with the parts you have, but they're not quite the same as your first choice combination of 11 top parts so you still win enough to be up near the top but you're more vulnerable, you lose more than you normally would.
Perfectly understandable, right? You put cheaper tyres on your car then find the grip's not quite the same in the wet, but it's what you expected.
So why the fuck can't you work out what happens when that car is a football team and those key parts are your top players? Because that's all that has happened this season, yet you're incapable of working that out.
So have you worked out yet why you're not the one who knows best, the one who will be leading a team out at Wembley any time soon, or lifting a PL or CL trophy any time in the near future. Or ever. Or do you want me to explain it to you?
