Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

I think if Haaland had stopped and appealed it would’ve been a sending off. Doesn’t excuse var mind. I’d say ridiculous decision but we all know that’s not the right word.
Haaland would have found it hard to know if the keepers hand was in rhe box or not. Disgraceful decision.

As long as they add the time on properly I don’t see a problem with it.

As someone that had a head injury whilst playing sport, I can say that even what looks like the most trivial thing might not be.

That’s not to say some players try and take advantage of it though. Just make sure the times added on so it’s minimised as much as possible.

its painful how teams are using fake injuries to kill the game and take a timeout, the officials do nothing about it and let it happen, it used to be around the 60-minute mark, but now it's the 30-minute mark in the first half as well

killing the momentum is a very big part of a team's game plan now against us, It's always the same thing, the goalkeeper or defender, then everybody goes to the touchline for drinks and a manager debrief.

At least we don't have to suffer the feral dippers in the CS now.

And our seat counters can have a well earned break and a full pre-season before we WIN THE FUCKING LEAGUE IN 25/26.

Part of the problem now is it won’t make much of a difference who we buy attacking wise . We are playing a system where against soton , gvardiol and Lewis saw most of the ball . Today it was Akanji and Dias .
When the wingers do get the ball or an attacking midfielder, they’re up against a set 11 .
Not sure what nico and khusanov have done wrong since January and deserve playing time over most of pep’s favourites.
I also think either Haaland or pep needs to go for a coherent system .
Hopefully this is a seasons blip , I’m not convinced it is and scousers of the 80’s , arse , tarquins and the rags all probably thought they had a one season blip at the time .
Its awful
Its been awful for 2 years

Somethings gotta give. It has to be the coach

To top off a shit day we are sat at a standstill as the M1 is shut due to an incident. We have been sat in the same place for an hour. Fuck knows what time the road will open back up and when we will get home.

Imagine for a moment this is a Formula 1 team. You have a car and you need 11 top class components to stand a chance of winning the next race, engine, brakes, steering, tyres, exhaust and so on. And you'll need those components every time you race to stand a chance of winning the title.

Now imagine your brakes are fucked very early into the season. You have replacements but they're not quite as good. Your steering rack goes, again you have a replacement but again it's not quite as precise, not quite up to the same standard. You lose the race.

As the season goes on you're doing what you can with the parts you have, but they're not quite the same as your first choice combination of 11 top parts so you still win enough to be up near the top but you're more vulnerable, you lose more than you normally would.

Perfectly understandable, right? You put cheaper tyres on your car then find the grip's not quite the same in the wet, but it's what you expected.

So why the fuck can't you work out what happens when that car is a football team and those key parts are your top players? Because that's all that has happened this season, yet you're incapable of working that out.

So have you worked out yet why you're not the one who knows best, the one who will be leading a team out at Wembley any time soon, or lifting a PL or CL trophy any time in the near future. Or ever. Or do you want me to explain it to you?

It's painful, City was shocking

but how can the VAR officials give a pen for United in the final we beat them in, Because Grealish brushed the ball with his fingernails, then not send the keeper off today for handling the ball a yard outside the box
think that's easy mate one plays in blue the other in red
we did enough today early doors to win but got caught again on the break
make champs league hopefully if not were playing Thursday nights

Maybe because the formula car as football squad analogy (despite your strong attempt) is a bit apples oranges.

Just made it home. Disappointing result and as with last year it's a long journey home when you lose. As soon as we fluffed our lines with the penalty I felt the writing was on the wall. No amount of cheering and singing could change the result. We couldn't hit a cows backside with a banjo today.
There was no creativity in midfield, a lot of possession to be sure but little else. Peculiar how with a team packed full of internationals our shooting is quite poor. Ah well, it wasn't to be, again. Palace defended in numbers and hit us on the break as most teams do now adays.

I presume the other player is Bobb who has somehow become a superstar in his absence. excuses ,excuses ,excuses. You adapt to compensate for these absences not continue playing the same shite every week and hoping it somehow clicks.
I presume you didn't watch the pre-season matches or you would understand. But then you're clearly another one of those who doesn't understand that if you can't play your best XI for most of the season then you're not going to have your best season. If you did then it would mean that when they were fit, the likes of Rodri, Stones and the rest would be on the bench every week.

What I get frustrated with if it's not even that difficult to work out yet most of you on here still can't manage it.

I think regardless of how we played. We’re missing that go to player. Kev as amazing as he’s been for us isn’t that guy anymore but who is?

We’ve always been relying on someone else but who is there ?

Doku and Savinho aren’t good enough.

We need to spend big.
Yeah, we no longer have 'game changers' that will perform week in week out. Haaland is a world-class striker but he is as good as the chances that are created for him. Marmoush is very good but not great. Any player we are signing this summer has to be a 'game changers', no fucking around.

Because our players are not going out celebrating tonight, would expect them to be in tip top shape for Tuesday night against Bournemouth. More fire in the belly required.

from a football point of view we need a refresh
The club World Cup will give no respite for the players
From a fan perspective- we collectively were shit today
Zero atmosphere- what the fuck has happened
A polish guy I see home and away was the only guy trying to get people in the moment
Everyone else around were quiet
Forget the fucking bullshit banners and singing in the toilet at HT
The crowd reflected the team - fucking shite

Right, I am off to Bed

But first, I would like to thank all the amazing City fans who went today and spent a shit load of money because they love of our great club, You deserve better today but that's football I guess no guarantees.

I know you are the best fucking fans in the world and will be back for more next week.

Love and Peace

Put a different pilot in it. one that's prepared to take a risk that's what you do. Not much of a driver if he needs to have the best of everything to perform. It's called adapting.

because you wouldnt start the race with no left stub axle, and a botched bit in its place
you wouldnt start the race with no right stub axle and and old used one that was worn out sat on shelf
you wouldnt start the season with no replacement steering wheel
you wouldnt start the season with an engine with already worn out piston rings and no replacements

and if you did then the person responsible would be sacked

Was bringing on Echeverria ineffect sending a message to some on the bench their time at City is up?? Could not get my head around that one, next two games will be tough and that World Club Cup is not ideal timing at all. At least we are spared the media circus of a game versus the dippers for the charity shield.
