I'm no Pep outer, but if he wants to get the best out of Haaland next season he is going to have to get his wingers to start crossing the ball from the wings and having fullback properly overlapping and creating overloads and cutbacks.

If he carries on with this inverted fullback nonsense and cut it wingers we might as well call it a day with Haaland.

I'm astonished he has the numbers he has this year considering how utterly bang average we are at creating goals.
He’s not a Pep type of player. He is a goal scorer with no other main skills. The opposite of what Pep likes. We use him dreadfully and he looks like a shadow of the player we signed. Hiding at back post. No interest or ability to hold ball up. Not got the skills to play in intricate spaces. Too big to be able to run around, too soft to intimidate defenders and hold ball up. Our tactics- which worked were to have control in front of their low block, but Haaland is a walking post box in this approach. We hardly ever use his pace - only time we did their keeper should have got sent off. We either need to build the system around feeding his strengths- which will need a change in manager cos Pep will never do this, or accept he isn’t a pep player and get players that will work in his tactical system.

Marmoush's job as well.

Haaland has missed, plenty. His penalty technique is shite.
Behave. Bury the fucking thing. He's done it plenty of times. Fuck all to do with technique. It's down to not backing himself to bust the fucking net from 12 yds.
The same over complication of the job in hand was more than evident in Sergio too.

you have no idea if he bottled it

plus 30 goals as a manequin is quite good going
He's actually under performing his xG for the last 2 seasons running so at some point we have to consider how much of it is the quality of chances those around him create for him.

It's not often he makes his own goals anyway, so he's hardly having to beat 4 men before shooting in a high danger position, Aguero-style.

One of the posters here said really well a week ago...Haaland is a really good goal scorer ,but not a very good footballer.it is starting to look like this. If you want to be ine of the best in the world ,you can't only hope for others to give you the goals on plate.

As soon as you mention bullshit like xg I lose interest

the most meaningess statistic ever created

has no bearing on a player or the game

Not taking the PK showed a loss of confidence. I think Kev might have convinced him to five it up too :(

I am mad so forgive my heresy here, but I'm begining to think Ekitike might be a better fit here at this rate :(

If Haaland’s injury was just 1 week more serious, we’d have an FA Cup and CL spot for next season. His return fucked us, and I don’t really blame Haaland too much, even though he clearly needs to do more. I blame Pep. It’s the latest in a series of absolutely shocking decisions that he’s made. We were actually getting results before Haaland was shoehorned back in.

You should know, you're the fucking manager, and saw Marmoush with the ball for ages.
To me that reads like Haaland gave the pen up and Pep doesn't want to throw him under the bus, but what do I know

Either way, we either need to play a style that suits him or move him on. He'd score for fun in the right system. Hell, we've seen him score for fun in a system that doesn't suit him

As poor as he’s been since coming back you also can’t blame him for looking disillusioned, next to no service in 180 mins of football. No doubt he should be doing more but he’s never been the type to grab a game by the scruff of the neck.

We know what his strengths are and 8/10 if he gets a sniff of a chance he’ll score.

No idea why he didn’t take the penalty, strange one that. What’s even more fucking strange is pep claiming he didn’t know a thing about it. Talk about taking ownership of mistakes. Bet he wouldn’t have said the same had marmoush scored and we’d won.
