I was fucking astonished to see that he had made the punditry lineup.

Nothing to do with either club, spectacularly failed manager, cannot articulate himself, ugly as sin and thoroughly unlikeable.

What a bell end he is..........
Why? It's rag TV. They are obliged to have at least one rag on at all times.

To be fair, both Guehi and Wharton are reported as having gone to hospital rather than the party.

It did look at the time like Wharton was milking it and being told to stay down to break up the game.

I thought 10 minutes was about right, difficult to tell what gets added for slow goalkicks, or how much should be.
The refs can have an impact on time wasting, especially when teams like Palace are doing it from kick off. Book at least one early doors, that'll give the others pause for thought (just don't take so long to think it over though).

No surprise with some of the very low post count posters as they're obvious trolls, but it is disappointing from others who obviously are Blue but seem to have entirely lost the plot.
The man behind us at Wembley was just a pain in the backside. Moaned all match. Has no idea how to support the team. Everything was “what’s the f****** point”.
There was absolutely no “point” in him being a supporter. Hope he never goes to one of our matches again.

There were a few occasions yesterday where a Palace player would be seemingly dead on the floor, only to miraculously spring back to life when we had the ball and started moving up the pitch.

I do like how this season, our boys seem to be sick of it and more often than not DON'T kick the ball out of play when an opposing player is trying it on.

I think he is on to attract the shall we say "More elderly lady" type viewer.

Yeah, everyone knows that most yellow cards given for timewasting are far too late on.
I'm not sure what an acceptable time for goalkicks is (anything over 20 seconds is pushing it, IMO), but it was pretty obvious that City players were fetching balls for restarts and had decided that the ref wasn't going to do anything.

Martin Samuel penned another good article in the Sunday Times today.
“..Having hosted the White Horse Final, and the Matthew’s Final, the Stuart Atwell Final really cannot have come as too much of a surprise…”
One of the few journos I have any time for.
Genuinely fair in his writing - and having read the article his comments on the non-red were very well written and witty

I thought kicking the ball away was yellow but that was relaxed yday as well.

I was saying where the fuck were all the ball boys?

Going on about the semi in 2011 when he was suspended.

The FA gave him a 2 match ban, which included the semi.

"The FA had an ex City executive as Chairman, who handed the 2 game suspension to keep me out of the semi. City cheating again eh Micah".

Or words to that affect.
Only one cheat here, did he have a wig on yesterday as soon as i saw him on the bbc i turned it over.Screenshot_2025-05-18-15-35-36-213_com.android.chrome-edit.jpg

Martin Samuel…

Henderson had come too far, to the edge of his area, but the ball hadn’t kicked on as expected. Now he was stranded, unable to handle, out of position, Haaland about to nick the ball around him. Panicking he swung an arm and wafted the ball away to his left, Haaland now without opportunity, danger momentarily averted. Attwell, of course, did nothing. His VAR, Michael Salisbury, sprung into action at the next break in play. Maybe the VAR’s VAR, Jarred Gillett, had a shufti too. They might as well have asked Curly, Larry and Moe. All came to the conclusion that Attwell’s initial mistake was spot-on.

And then, as is the fashion for Howard Webb’s PGMOL, it was time to light the gas.

The evidence before you is wrong. Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, not around my eyes, 1-2-3, you’re back in the room. You didn’t see a deliberate handball to prevent a goalscoring opportunity. The player with 275 goals in 339 club matches – plus 40 in 41 internationals – was never going to score from there. He was running away from goal, not towards it. He would have had to hit a shot marginally across his body. He never does that. No player does. It’s impossible. How could anyone consider such a thing?

“The direction in which Erling Haaland was going made it a possible, but not an obvious goal scoring opportunity,” said Professional Gaslighting Match Officials Ltd. Obvious? What’s obvious got to do with it? Who decides obviousness? Could Haaland have scored? Sounds like a yes. Was it handball? Definitely. Then it’s a red card.

Not that there would have been anyone beyond the sky blue corner who wanted Palace’s goalkeeper sent off, but we do like to see the rules applied competently, even if it doesn’t suit our desires. And neutrals can feel dispassionate about this outcome because we all wanted Palace to lift their first trophy; but for those who were part of City’s contingent, to see the player that shouldn’t even have been on the field then save your team’s penalty – and make some other outstanding saves – must have sucked.

Just away from yesterday’s debacle, would our women’s team and set up get such a glowing media reception if they had just won six titles in a row and completed a treble?

There's plenty of them on here. I don't think they get any joy from following City.

Professional Gaslighting Match Officials Ltd. PMSL. Nail on head there, should be used by all football fans wherever possible. Is there any hope we could ever find out if they are unbelievably stupid, or simply corrupt?
