You are dead right that a Seat Counters work is never done. Did you spot that weird little group of 8-10 empty seats in the bottom tier towards the half way line? On the north side of the stadium? All I can think of is a group of wealthy fans or players’ family who couldn’t go at the last minute for some reason.

Still worrying now

You did on Saturday, if you went?

That certainly didn’t help or inspire the City team. Haaland throwing his arms up in air to the City fans to back and support the team.

Why is it so hard to give the Palace Ultras some credit?

Other fans give our away support credit and we lap it up on here.

Yet some of us on here can’t give the Palace Ultras some credit because they use a drum, etc.
We have tons of tourist that wouldn’t know walking down Maine road to we wish you a merry Xmas then you get the other lot who are to coked up to know what to sing and finally old cunts like @Dodge who sleep most of the game to generate any atmosphere

More negative b**locks on here again . I had a fantastic day yesterday despite the result . Proper old school City fans out everywhere yesterday and thought the atmosphere was brilliant all day from both sets of supporters . Palace ultras are unique in the English game and deserve credit but City fans were fine yesterday , the sucker punch obviously took the sting out of us but I thought our fans fine, especially in 110 where I were

I actually love our support. When we’re anxious we’re quiet, when we’re excited we’re loud, when we’re angry we’re aggressive, it reflects how we’re feeling. For me far better then having a drum or someone with a megaphone telling you what to do or what to sing.
Sometimes it works for you, sometimes against, but I know what I’d rather have

Absolutely. Real support, not fake. Small clubs have drums.

We did support our team on Saturday

Players of all teams gesture towards the stands for a cheer / more noise when they’ve won a corner or a throw in - it’s one if the things I hate about modern football - so your point about big Erl is deliberately misleading.

The first time you fuck a new girl you put a proper effort in, the 31st time much less so. It’s human nature to be enthused by new experiences and so yes Palace fans made a bit more noise than us yesterday but they made much less noise than we did in 2011 vs the rags or Stoke when it was new to us.

I wish I could put things as well as you, that is one brilliant post.

We didn't have a drum either.

Not being funny but have you been to Palace away in the league? Other than 20 ‘ultras’ in a corner banging a drum, it’s dead. It was their big day out, it happens.
Yes I have been there quite a few times. and I agree it was nowt on the scale of yesterday. But yesterday was a huge game for us and we aren’t able to organise something that was surely a great day out. with the March to the ground , organised singing where everyone joined in and a great camaraderie.
We need some big characters to get an atmosphere going.

Ha how can you think we were fine , it was the ultimate stand up , fold your arms and be silent crowd fucking garbage

Well we did organise as singing section apparently

We don't need ultras or whatever you want to call them, but we were completely out done by Palace. It helps that it's coordinated with one section leading on the songs. It helps that the songs are simple and easy to hear.

Our away support is one of the best in the country. Palace didn't even sell out at ours last month, so no need to get carried away. We were particularly poor.

When their second was disallowed I thought we would ramp it up. It was a lifeline for us and we are usually pretty good when it's backs against the wall. But whether too much drink or too much recent success, it was so flat. Even an attempt by Haaland to ramp up the crowd was ignored. A shame it was as flat as it was. More youngsters getting season tickets will help, there will be a lot of younger lads who can take over the mantle and maybe the new North Stand gives them the chance... Big maybe on that even with what the club have suggested recently.
well we were away yesterday , same as Palace. And our atmosphere was shit. And the reason is is that we don’t have any big leaders to organise something like Palace do. I’m sure 16-28 year olds would love to be bouncing up and down singing their heads off and getting everyone else to join in so why aren’t we trying to sort something like that out.

Had a drink after the match with some Scottish based Palace fans in our hotel in Ealing. We gave them praise for their support and they said ours was good at certain parts of the game and understood it was probably a bigger deal for them as we're there so often.
Great bunch of guys & girls saying how it was their best day in their Palace supporting lives.
How can anyone begrudge them their day in the sun.
Wished them good luck in their venture into Europe next season, and they wished us the same, as we're more or less guaranteed to be there even if not the chumps league.
Then being the bad losers we are it kicked off ;)

Oh, stop arguing the toss, you know well what Haaland wanted, he wanted the City fans to support and get behind the team, whilst all he and we could hear was the Palace Ultras and the other Palace fans singing constantly throughout the game, even before Palace scored their goal.

There was no support from City fans long before and after the penalty miss. We didn’t get behind the team or help them, regardless of how they were playing.
I think part of the problem is the way we play, it's all so slow and predictable, we don't break with speed and that can be frustrating. When Palace break, they have lots of speed upfront, that creates excitement and noise, we just don't play like that. Many of our games are quite boring and predictable, hence poor atmosphere.

We had 5 or 6 really good chances and spent nearly the whole game in their half. They had one chance in the whole game.

Says the doddering old **** @Indaparkside who met himself in Bratislava and wished himself a safe journey home...

My days.

Where were you sat ?

I was in 507, it wasn’t bouncing but it was pretty good. My family were in 523 and said it was noisy in there. There were songs breaking out all over the upper tier.

Only because thats all they needed tbf..we equalise..they would have attacked more...they neatly went 2 up as well

It was a neutral game not an away game. It wasn't 3,000 blues in an away end where it is easier to get songs going.

The 1894 section didn't work for some reason. Whether that was the wrong people getting into the area or what I'm not sure. They tried to organise it, and the tifo for KDB shows how good their effort is.

As for the younger fans, getting more season tickets for that generation is the first hurdle.
