Morgan Gibbs-White

I'm a big fan of MGW. He's got a massive engine so can run all day long. Unlike a lot of our recent signings, he's not a dribbler, he's a take the ball pass the ball guy, but with the added bonus of taking on risky passes to incredibly good effect. He's in the top percentile for key passes which is something we are absolutely crying out for. A lot of people keep describing him as a number 10 but the reality for me he's much more of someone who will do most of his best work from slightly deeper positions as well being able to get forward when needed.

I don't think the fee will be mental or anywhere near the figures reported. I'd say 55-65 million pounds.

Think we are defo going for him mate?

We are extremely short on twats.

Twattishness is a wildly underrated factor of a successful team.

I’d much rather see him being a **** and getting people sent off than watch Savinho pretending he’s had a grenade thrown at him every time a full back farts near him.
I agree, don't get me started on Savinho though mate.... Gibbs white would be overqualified if it were only twats we're looking for, but we need someone with twatishness, bite and that is also proven at the top level.

Personally hope we get him. His ability on the ball is great but his ENERGY is exactly what we need. He's good enough (understatement) on the ball to hold his own in this team/squad but he's unique in that he's aggressive in the press and energetic in everything he does.

Our team is slow. Let's face it. It's rapid up top but everywhere else it's slow. Our midfield has been overrun game after game this season while Bernie, Kev, Kovacic, Nico G, Gundogan are lagging behind - not through lack of trying, just through lack of pace and energy. Two things that MGW has in abundance.

As well as quality on the ball.

All day a yes for me, hope we get it over the line. Who gives a fuck what the cost is?! This Summer is one where we need to strengthen key areas that are dwindling - not to penny pinch.

We will end up signing him for mega money and in 2 seasons time, loads of fans will be moaning that we've done another Grealish (and I like Grealish) and overpaid because he's English. Look closer to home City? What can the lad do in midfield that someone like O'Reilly can't learn at his age? We either go world class or just better utilise what is available at low cost imo.
Why can’t we bring a few through from the academy you never know until you get them in amongst senior players and out on the pitch what actually is the problem,or is more of we want ready made players now and not in a year or two’s time, look at Barca with Yamal pedri and a couple of others who escape my mind at the moment, you don’t know until you give them a chance..

Forest bought him for £40-odd million from Wolves and his stock has risen significantly since then so I'd go £70-plus, probably about right in today's market. Fully agree with the key passes bit, will be nice to see someone look to hit those passes from deep instead of passing it sideways across the opponent's box. The assist to Wood last week but have had Haaland licking his lips.

You’ve completely proven my point. We aren’t ‘likkle’ (grow up) City anymore. We are now with the elite. With that comes elite players choosing elite clubs. Wirtz, if that’s we are talking about, has chosen an elite club in his homeland over an elite club in a foreign land.

Your quote about those who we signed in the start of this, when we weren’t elite club, came here for money and the chance of success. Dint be fooled by that.
MGW doesn’t strike me as an elite club signing. Absolutely hope to be proved wrong if he does sign, but right now I just don’t see it in him.

Yeah, maybe it does go to 70. Maybe Forest have an eye on one of our players and we balance the cash flow/cost that way. TBH I'm not massively arsed about the fee. I like him and I think he is at a point in his career where he wants to get better and go up a level. He's not coming here to win a a couple of trophies then sit back and coast. From everything I've read and heard, he's hungry as fuck to be considered one of the league's best midfielders. And tbf to him the last couple of seasons he's been up there.

Porbably come down to CL and how many add ons he's met. The fee was 25m+. Forest sill have some PSR to deal with

MGW is a busy hard working player, tenacious and gets about the pitch. He’s got the quality to improve us. Proven premiership player. A trigger player setting standards of work rate demanding the same from team mates, and can score goals.

Welcome to Europe League. MGW is the final piece to the official downfall. 100M for an average 10 you can get anywhere with players like Cherki, Simons out there. Someone in this club has to be a rat like barrada. But even bigger. Is someone telling the prince in Abu Dhabi something we don’t know?
Liverpool levels of self-entitlement here

I don’t understand those who are labelling him as “average”.

Based on what we’ve seen this season, he would significantly improve our midfield.
he is certainly not average

but the main issue for me is that he replaces KdB, while i see him more like a Gundogan replacement

for me he is more like mix of Gundogan goal crashing and vision and Bernardo hard work and tenacity

Our midfield have been way below average so an average player would defo improve it.
