Trams tonight

Doesn't matter, what ended up happening was a stadium full of 55,000 people and another full with 23,000 people all converged on a tram system that can fit about 50 people on each one. Do City and the COOP Live not talk to eachother?
The stadium currently holds 52,600 and a small proportion use the tram.

I walk through St Peters Sq on my way home and I see loads of fans getting off the tram. Why are they using a tram to make a walk of 25 minutes when the timetable is 1/12 minutes?

Not everyone is as fit as you obviously

How are you getting to st Peter's square in 25 mins? Insane speed, could use you in our midfield

We should have played another night, Wednesday was out due to UEFA ....or was it? but, we should have played this if that's the case on Thursday.
Could have played last Tuesday, like our fixture before the semi finalwas brought forward .Same would have done for Palace v Wolves.
Would also have given the construction team another week.

Proper weird one last night, loads of people literally wrestling with the stewards trying to turn left out the arena towards the trams because they made them walk to the main road and back around again. The crowd at the arena will be a lot of none Mancunians, probably worth telling them before the gig its quicker to walk back into town than use that shower of shit. Especially if they are forced to the back of the queue behind the football fans.

Because like most folk that walk they give you a time nowhere near the actual time it takes.lol.
He wil be one of them it only takes 15 mins to walk to Piccadilly Station.p

I remember in the 60's and 70's taking my time leaving from events, bag of chips a chat with friends and not a bus or tram in sight.

Ask

Ask SKY in this case.

But neither venue needs to consider what's going on elsewhere, they have there own priorities
They have to consider their punters and that includes pedestrian and vehicular chaos when events at adjacent venues finish at the same time.
But I'll happily blame Sky if they prevented an early start.

The main issue at play though is the fact that you get 1 single tram every 15 minutes. If that was any other major City in Europe, you'd be getting a double every 2 or 3 mins until it had been cleared.

It isn’t perfect but that really isn’t true is it?

The vast majority are doubles on a match day. And you might occasionally have to wait 15 minutes but the average time between trams before or after a game is a lot less than that.

Maybe I’m just missing them, but to me the majority of trams on the way to the ground are singles, based on my experience of waiting in St Peter’s square and never being able to get on one.

I’ve sacked off getting them after the match as it’s quicker walking.

City are stakeholders in the arena. They also run all the catering there.

So they should be considering the operational logistics of having two huge events on at the same time.

I got to Cornbrook around 1130 to be met with 2 options
1 Trafford Bar
2 Trafford Bar
which made no sense when there were so many concert goers wanting to get to their hotels around the swamp and Salford Quays - so I was like the pied piper directing people where to go
What was even stranger was many were saying it wasn't like this the last time i.e. they could all get to Salford Quays which is why they had booked the same hotels - may be this weeks works experience had been given at shot at timetabling!

I left work at 5 and trams were only running to Trafford bar from deansgate. Think there was a signal failure or something.

Don’t know about a signal failure last night. But I have noticed that there are always an abundance of trams terminating at Trafford Bar, late in the evening.

My guess would be that trams that have been running on other lines and are heading back to the depot in Old Trafford for the night, run as a kind of bonus service as far as Trafford Bar.
