Because it wasn't horrendous? It looks bad but it rrally wasn't. He's boxed in, what are you wanting him to do?

If the set piece plan was for the keeper to come and take it then you don't leave the keeper boxed in, the defenders shield him from any pressure taking blockers away so that he can have a clean route to the ball. The plan was for the defenders to deal with it, which they didn't and that's why Ederson was left with no protection.

Well no, there's absolutely ifs and buts, and one of those if's is if he's being blocked off with no protection he isn't likely to be able to get to the ball. How are you proving he gets through the blockers?

Agreed, he should've been a lot stronger!
It looked like the defender was pushed into him a bit but i'm thinking at the time he needed to make a better effort there.

Another great assist tho, he's excellent at those mid to long range passes.

He wasn’t helped in any way by Ruben who inexplicably just pushed Mateta into him which shifted his body weight. Ruben then barely got off the ground and who allowed the guy a free run?

55 league appearances over this and last season to date.

Alisson has made 50 league appearances in the same time frame.

There's 1 straight away.

If the rumours are true that he's yet another player this season who has been playing through injury then it's not really that surprising, there's a common theme with reoccuring injuries this season.

Not his biggest fan, my main worry is Ortega not looking great when he had a chance this season. Don't want any player injured though

I remember watching the match v Spurs, Ederson’s pass to Gundogan and his piece of skill to beat the Spurs defender when the defender face planted the pitch. I laughed out loud seeing it. On MoTD, they all had a laugh about it too. Brilliant:)

Mental this thread dropped to page 2 and no one has posted on it for over a month.

Sadly, think I witnessed his last performance at the Etihad last night; hope I’m wrong. Given how long he’s been here (two seasons less than De Bruyne) what he’s won - and thereby contributed - and the fact he’s seemingly off, the contrast with Kev’s fanfare is stark.

Think we will miss him terribly.

Anyone who doesn’t see what he’s brought to the team for the last eight seasons doesn’t really understand football.

If he does go, I wish him and his family, who all seem incredibly close, all the very best and I hope whatever his reason for leaving, that what he seeks elsewhere will bring them all happiness.

And if that’s the last we see of him, thanks for the memories Eddie.

Yep it does look that way, but I would have thought there would be more of a fuss made of ederson leaving than him just getting off

Noticed in the farewell vid for KDB, the comments from Ortega to KDB didn't indicate at all that Ortega would be leaving either. No idea what's happening with the keeper situation.

I don't think he seems like the type to want any pomp and ceremony. Comes off as shy despite being a mad bastard. Think he's gone and it will be a downgrade whoever comes in, but if he's not committed then its time for a refresh.

Still in the keep at all costs bracket for me. I don't rate Ortega one bit I think he's utterly dreadful and should never ever be starting any form of game when Eddy is available.
