You do see the words “may” and “if” featuring because there’s no certitude in the post you are quoting other than to say we will try to add players? I said about potential additions as the club have briefed this previously.

In any event I would say the timing on the CWC is unusual as it traverses the traditional preseason dates from 1st of July. Any player on the verge of leaving is unlikely to want to miss out on their normal rest period before joining a new club for preseason.

If anyone has agreed a move or definitely leaving it is not in their or their new club’s interest to be tied to City for the CWC as they would involved in the CWC from the 18th of June possibly up to 13th of July. So a player could finish the season Sunday, link up with their international squad Sunday week, a week later, kick off the CWC. Then finish on the 13th of July. All City players then likely to get time off. So players are tied up until late July.

Again nothing certain but speculation based on the timing of the CWC.

If we loan out kushnov and reis and keep akanji or stones then Peps been on the ketamine

Pep wasn't arsed about having to develop players when he decided Lewis, who was a solid right back and club captain at youth level needed to be the next Lahm and fucked about with his position.

the obsession with all players being utility players is his only failing imho, seem Viana wants to buy player to play the posiiton they are strongest not to play several if needed.

If true Pep want player that can give him glory the next 2 seasonn not ones that will give us success for the next 10 then sorry but that is ego not genious

You probably need to add Grealish and Phillips to your list of departures. There's also the question of what to do with Nunes.

Nunes needs to go - he’s a liability. Sure he’s a nice guy but just not our level.

How easy will it be to sell the players on your list? They’re on good money and as far as I’m aware not out of contract. Some might be persuaded to leave if they want to play in the World Cup, but they’re unlikely to take big wage cuts and will be fussy about which clubs they will be willing to join. And, in the case of Stones and Ake, will need to prove their fitness at the CWC before clubs will take a chance on them. And how big a fee will City demand for players such as Grealish?

We probably will be able to offload most of them, but I don’t think it will be a quick process and could drag on into August. Which would make it difficult for City to sign too many replacements before they leave.
