I strongly believe this is all down to southgate.
Phil went to England camp as pl winner, player of the year etc.
What did southgate do put a very poor bellend in phils position, pushed Phil out on the left wing. Southgate also used taa in midfield ahead of Phil.
For a young man after having had the season of his life, the way southgate treated him was a disgrace.
Phil was flying in confidence and southgate took it all away.

I fucking hate southgate such a fucking brown nose.

It probably added to his woes but whatever has been bugging him was already formented.

He was evidently struggling both mentally and physically way before that game. Then he comes off with ligament damage as thousands of dickheads hurl abuse at him.

The fact that he was upset didn't even need pointing out. I don't know why anyone would have denied it at the time and I don't get why you're bringing it up again now.

I’m no fan of Sir Gareth but it’s a stretch to blame him for a complete season. For a start Foden spent most of the run in last year for us from the right cutting in not as the 10. Was never going to start there for England because of Saka. Ok,a more attacking manager might have played him and Bellingham in the middle.

Main issue with Phil is he can no longer burst past anyone. I’m not sure how a few games last summer could be responsible for that nearly 12 months on.

So if teams start singing nasty songs at him he’ll fall to bits? Christ! Best not pick him for old trafford or Anfield next season then.

I also think that his lack of confidence started last summer. He had all the fans singing his name and competed for his position with a super confident Bellingham. He seemed to wilt under the pressure. He has not been right since

Broadcasting it to the world is just giving ammunition to fans, not just those two sides either. It's how fans are, ours included.

I know it has to be awful to hear fans sing awful things about your family, but he's got to learn to deal with it. I know that sounds callous but he's not the first or last player to get it. Whats he going to do otherwise? Play shite for months on end? It'll never stop if that's the case.

Of course it's easy for us to say get on with it, but the truth is if he is going to mentally fall to bits over things like that, he might as well hang them up now because it's going to be an upsetting and hard road for him going forward, because he's going to hear it plenty more.

I feel for the lad but you need thick skin to play football in front of unfiltered fans in stadiums. I guess you never truly know if you're cut out for it until they come after you.

I don't think managers openly mentioning it in interviews is doing him any favours though. They've put a bigger target on his back.

I feel for Phil and hope he can recover first of all and then get back to the exciting player we all love. But to blame Southgate is a bit of a stretch - a full season of struggles because Southgate picked another player in the 10 role? Not for me that
 
Foden had a soul destroying euros, the big headed knobheads wouldn’t pass to him. That said he has come back and had a stinker of a season for us. I couldn’t give a toss about Ingerland and haven’t since it was dominated by gobby rag twat players in the 90s and 00s.

Get better Foden and fuck Ingerland.

Yep especially with Tuchel selecting players from others teams involved in the Club World Cup. No common sense at all calling up players involved, I mean the U17 team would beat Andora and what a pointless friendly instead of letting players have a break

I love Phil but if we're being honest he's never really done it for England for whatever reason, he doesn't really deserve a place. Prefer him to recharge his batteries.
