Now that it’s all but confirmed that the dude isn’t rocking up at ours, instead of continually moaning over the situation, why don’t we identify the next best or better option?

Some would suggest Gibbs-White but in my opinion MGW is many levels below that elite replacement we seek. Been thinking about Musiala of course but that seems too far fetched. Or no? Can we give it a good try?

Or do we just settle for a Dani Olmo? Basically what are your thoughts?

We change our style

Marmoush will be outstanding next year and we have both Rodri and Bobb back

More an issue is Full backs and maybe another midfielder

Goalie is another
While I understand your point, I can’t help but think that failing to match up with the elite (or close to elite) reinforcements in our rivals will make it much harder to catch up with them.

Trincao is a winger

I agree with the earlier post. Put either Foden or Marmoush into the 10 role. Get Reijnders in alongside Rodri - we have bobb returning as well as echeverri who i believe is good enough for next season.

Get another cm in and 2 attacking full backs we should be good.

Reijnders
x1 CM
x2 fullbacks

I've no idea who but I'd say that the type of player we should be modeling our replacement on should not be just KDB. It could be a David Silva type or Yaya type or Fernandinho type or Ireland type or Benarbia type or Berkovic type or Bishop type or ...

What I mean is that we just need lots of good players who are will to put their all in.

My fear is that our manager's tactics and motivation are not in a state to get the most from any squad. If he can fix his head and heart I think we could do well with no signings.

so was Bernardo, think he could be an 8/10 here tbh. not that i see us moving for him
I think the club has looked at the cost of the wirtz deal and decided we can instead put foden or marmoush into the role - as someone on another thread said, marmoush had better numbers than wirtz as well

We don't need to replace Kev on a like for like basis, instead a balanced midfield of players that can break the line, shoot and have the energy and intelligence to press as part of the team. A midfield of Rodri, MGW and Reinjders with our current wingers and Haaland is very powerful indeed. The above 3 revolving where required with Gonzalez, Silva (and maybe Wharton) would give us plenty of cover and we still have Gundogan/ Lewis/ O'Reilly to chip in

I think they'll go with, for lack of a better comparison, how PSG etc have set the middle 3. Pace, Power, Graft, all rounders and let the flanks go nuts. Need some quality into the plan though in about 4 positions.

This is exactly what I mean. If we are planning to finish within top four next season then I’d be content with what we already have / are linked to but if you want to win the double at least (UCL and league) you have to be looking at the like of PSG and (hate to say it) what Dippers are currently doing in the market.

So Rodrygo or Nico Willaims would be helpful then out wide?
