Tyres should be a tool in the strategy, not this massive topic in its own right.

I’m sick of it being the Pirelli show.

It’s about time we had a new tyre supplier IMO. Pirelli have dictated the sport for what, 15 years now?

You know it’s bad when you have to mandate 2 stops (which has made Monaco a lot better though).
There’s such a lack of deg from the tyres in this era - it’s terrible.

It more interesting because of the pit stops yeah, but even then it’s nullified from the team play of holding up to create gaps. Otherwise I think there’s been one on track overtake thus far?

I’m not convinced at all.

Yes Adrian is a design genius but there’s something fundamentally unserious about that team.

My prediction for what it’s worth (which is nothing haha) is that next season will be a battle between Russell and the McLarens. Williams will be third.

My reasoning being the mood music seems to be Mercedes are getting the power unit recipe right and both McLaren and Williams as customer teams are run by very serious people who know what they’re doing and have four brilliant drivers. Williams being a couple of years behind McLaren in the journey of growing from being shite for years to fighting towards the front.

Mercedes and Russell strongly putting the story out there this week that he’s signing a new deal.

I was never really that convinced by George, as much as I really like him, but now he’s not under Lewis’ shadow he’s really flourishing into a top tier driver and a great leader.

Hard to beat that IMO.

Another hot take of mine is that there’s a bit of the Jonathan Ive’s about Adrian Newey.

He’s a celebrity designer and figurehead but theres a lot of credit taken for other people’s work over the years.

That Honda works team are very serious though. Imagine they will be long term looking to attract Max as well. They have huge money behind them, Saudis taking a look at upping their sponsorship and taking them over.

I don’t like them, but they are investing heavily, drivers are probably the weak link combined with the ‘daddy’ in charge.

No but most Monaco races are done and dusted by the end of lap 1. At least we've had something else to think about throughout. Not going to pretend it's been brilliant I'm not that naive but at least they tried something different!
