Fulham (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Finishing 3rd after the November/December form and injuries is a great recovery..

Haaland was pretty poor today don't know if it's a confident thing or he has a slight injury!? There was few times he was not gambling in the box where he could of had an easy goal, also there was moment where Marmoush worked how socks of to win the ball took the ball to the wing and Haaland never showed for it or moved into space! Marmoush on the right is not good for him and why do pep always do this with players!?

He doesn't look right after coming back and the team never seemed to adjust to his return. Much more fluid and better without him at full speed.

Right now I just want to be happy that this nightmare season is over.
I'm really happy that we'll be able to play in the Champions League next season.
Jesus wept, nightmare season? 3rd place finish and a cup final we would have likely won but for yet another appalling decision? I don't know how some of you lot would have coped when we ended up in the third tier after two disastrous seasons. You really need to stop expecting us to win everything all the time and learn to enjoy what we do win. Bet you were one of those that said we wouldn't make CL qualification.

Wanted the season to end for ages. Now it’s over I miss City already. Id have bitten your hand off for 3rd place after that winter spell. Bring on the new signings, players stepping up and a fresh start.

And Kevin, it’s been a pleasure. There’s been some monumental players this last decade but you’ve been the best of the lot. Hands down my favourite ever player to pull on the sky blue shirt

Well played CITY! The result was all that mattered today though.

We were in control and scored a great goal from Gundo, but if we don't put the game to bed we look so vulnerable on the break.

Eddie made some big saves and was my motm.

I can't understand why Gonzalez hasn't been playing more, he looked good again.

But I'm happy this season is over and now we can refresh the squad and go again next season!

I'm counting that as the start of next season
Nah, look at the country World Cups. They aren’t regarded as part of the following season. The player breaks/‘holidays’ come after, not before. There’s also an international set of matches coming up in between. You can count it that way, but it wouldn’t be accurate.

Hopefully a restart, much needed test and fresh new players ,will get our team back to the lvl we were past seasons.Pep needs to figure out , how to go forward , but im sure he will.

We're disappointed in only qualifying for UCL as United finish 15th?

I remember Noel Gallagher - before the fairytale began - on Fantasy Football League saying "Thanks, Dad" ironically for taking him to a City game as a nipper.
And of course, Ferguson "not in my time" when asked whether City would ever go to OT as favourites.

Life's not so bad
It never was so bad. My only concern a week ago was by some twist of fate the rags won that match and qualified and results conspired today to ensure that we didn't. That would have been an absolute travesty.

If I'm honest I slightly feel for Villa, robbed today by yet another awful refereeing decision, as we were last week, the major difference being that they got a goal chalked off at 0-0 with 15 minutes to go. Had that been given they would have likely held on for at least a point. And the rags would have finished another place lower. Emery looked like he was about to explode.

BBC troll factory, some **** called Shampoo Dicksplat saying City have endured a miserable campaign. Yep not great but finished 3rd and only missed out on winning the FA Cup due to PIGMOB cheating, oh and we have the CWC to look forward to, something the media fail to acknowledge.
Can't really have a pop at him when half the City "fans" on here are saying the same thing, even today. I remember plenty a week ago saying we wouldn't even qualify. In the end we only needed a point from the final two matches and as you say were cheated out of the cup (again).

Ok, I'll say something that won't be popular (and I'm saying it myself through gritted teeth): you look at that final table. Calmly and coolly, now that the Lord Mayor's show has passed by.
Liverpool are champions. They get nowhere near 90 points. Not even close. Because they're not pushed. Arsenal a cool ten points adrift.

In the six titles we won out of seven, we made getting ninety points fairly ordinary, par for the course as it were.
2017-18: 100 points;
2018-19: 98 points;
2019-20 (we won't talk about that too much; we still got 81 points, miles ahead of third, forget who it was, but miles behind Liverpool);
2020-21: 86 points, not pushed hard by second, and I think it's no coincidence, I forget who it was. Incidentally, third that year got 69 points, and it was… Liverpool! We still got a bit more than that this year, in our crappest season for a long time;
2021-22: 93 points;
2022-23: 89 points. Again, pushed quite hard, but not very, by second.
2023-24: 91 points. Pushed hard by a good Arsenal side.

But in several of those, we were pushed very hard by an excellent Liverpool. Oh and on the way, we won a few F.A. Cups and League Cups, and threw in a Champions League for good measure.
What a hell of an achievement that was!! It was scaling Everest, ambling down, and for good measure, jogging up K2.
