Club World Cup - Summer 2025

Not sure if I read it or just presumed that it will be hosted by a country hosting the World Cup the following year as both Fifa tournaments, acts as a trial run for organisers and allows FIFA to bundle tickets as they have done for this.
That could be anywhere then it’s been played all over the place.

Bet our players be off on holiday for 10 days before turning up in America for club World Cup! Our first game is on 18th June

I know it's good exposure and good money but the club really need this like a hole in the head

The club is exhausted, not becuas of this but becuase of the last half a decade, the players have been run into the ground physically and probably more importantly mentally

Wish we had a summer off, but looks it's where we are at, hope some other payers can get good game time

So they play this goes straight into the season and then a World Cup next year, players will be fucked.

It's a joke

The players are coming out in public and complaining it's not just a "game every 3 days" like flash like to mock but they train literally all day everyday, fatigue is a real issue and footballer is arguably the worst for it

Pep needs to see that a small squad with this many games isn't sustainable

We need this tournament to start bedding in the tactics/formation and players going into the start of next season
Exactly. We need serious work on our team. This will be like pre season for us as well. Ffs this isn't a mickey mouse cup. Our owners want to win it and stay in it. I'd rather play in this than some shite friendlies

Yep..agreed. club will see the financial aspect of winning it or getting to the final stages.

Pep needs to make some changes and the team need to get adjusted to carrying those tactics out especially any new players and those that arrived in January - friendlies wouldnt have been good enough.

Competitive tournament football will help us do that and i am looking forward to it.

This tournament and how we perform will allow us fans to see what next season could play out like

Will the 2029 one be in America again?
At the moment, two bids to stage the 2029 tournament have gone public - Australia and a joint bid by Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
FIFA has suggested that the tournament could be played in the US again but that could very possibly just be a bit of Infantino propaganda to ensure he stays in Trump's good books.

They get more time off than me and I work non stop 12 hour days and nights. I also have to cook for myself, clean my house, have all the usual day to day things to stress about. I don’t agree with the amount of football they play now but I don’t feel sorry for them. They have the best job I can possibly think of.

I agree however if we expect them to perform at the highest level constantly it just wont happen, but like you say I could think of shitter lives.

It could turn out to be a useful competition for us if we approach it in the right way and use it to give minutes to senior and junior players that haven't had many minutes with us this season for one reason or another, such as (fitness depending of course):

Ortega
Stones
Ake
Reis
Khusanov
Lewis
O'Reilly
Bobb
McAtee
Rodri
Gonzalez
Grealish

Plus maybe using some of those coming back from loan (Bah, Doyle etc) and any new signings in place by then.

We could likely cobble a half decent team from those players.

Ortega
Lewis Khusanov Reis Ake
Rodri Gonzalez
Bobb O'Reilly Grealish
McAtee

Use those that have played a lot this season sparingly, if at all, until the later stages (if we make it that far).
