Morgan Gibbs-White

Dont OReilly moving into midfield for at least another season at best. Still takes to long on the ball
But he has to get development time at some point if we want it to happen.

Reijnders and Foden would be the main starters.

O Reilly then learns by playing there, and especially from Reijnders and Gundogan.

Im also happy with him just being a LB fulltime, but Im also of the mind of if left 8 is his long term plan, then just start now? Dont delay those growing pains.

dont see it happening, he'll be back up LB for another year. Be decent to see him with a handhold midfield in some cup games though

It honestly feels like we're going back in time and making the same mistakes all over again-just like the Phillips deal or spending £100 million on Grealish. I really want as many English players in our squad as possible, but only if they genuinely deserve it-if they make us better and are players we'd sign no matter their passport. This isn’t that. He doesn’t improve on anyone currently in the squad, he’s clearly not a replacement for Kevin, and I can’t wrap my head around the £70 million price tag. Not £60m, not £50m, not even £40m. It’s frustrating and disappointing to see us repeat these kinds of decisions.

Apply for a job at City and make it all better for yourself?

only way MGW can work out well if Pep is going to change our style not like 180 degrees but at least 90 degrees.

if he will go back sick pressing, taking more risk, going more transition way quick attacks rather than slow build up, lot of fight in midfield and be bit like dippers midfield over the years not even close technically but incredible engine and work rate and stamina...
its so clear that this should be the other way around, us getting Wirtz, annd them getting MGW, and could see MGW work out for them much better than would for us based on simply how he fits the tactics and style. maybe Slot wants to move away tho from Klopp style fair enough...

if we retain our heavy possession style, build slowly from the back, DONT LOSE THE BALL first and foremost, I dont see MGW working out for us. after few months Pep wont even use him in midfield, and if he is frustrated or angry he will say front of press he doesnt have the brain to be used in midfield but very nice person and sorry he cannot get as much game time...

You need a home grown quota of players in your squad. And yes his profile as a player does massivley improve our midfield smart arse

Our full backs often spend most of their time in midfield anyway.

We will have many more options with our formations next season. This season has been a nightmare really and so predictable. Having geninune full backs/ wingbacks on both sides will be massive. Also mean we can play 3 at back again with Josep LCB his best position in this all day long. Lots more angles/ lot more spaces/ pace up front /big monster lapping up the rebounds from shots flying in left right and centre! We're back:)

I question how many games you’ve actually watched if you genuinely believe that MGW isn’t an improvement on anyone in our squad. In the FA Cup semi final a few weeks ago, our supposedly superior players couldn’t deal with him.

Is this the roll the dice whilst having your fingers crossed plan.

Our players find it hard to deal with Traore too. Should we buy him then if that’s your measuring criteria?

Gibbs White isn’t rubbish though? Are you another one crying because we’re not getting Wirtz?
I don’t give a shit about Wirtz. Of course he would have been the best option but he clearly chose Pool. But Gibbs-White is not the answer either imo. Just because City is interested in a player doesn’t mean I blindly think they are the best thing since sliced bread which you clearly do.
