Khaldoon's End of Season Review 2025

'Interesting'? It will be as dull as dish water! "well chairman" (I always think of Brian Clarke interviewing Swales back in the day when I hear a reporter calling Khaldoon 'chairman') and on it will go. Platitudes here, scripted questions for well-rehearsed answers there. Yes isn't this great, isn't that wonderful... and the new stand... let's not forget the woman, and the new under-sperm academy... (only joking... it's for toddlers aged 2-4yrs!!) wow! It's the same thing every year. I'm not suggesting btw, that we don't have some really good people running the club, we do, but I still find the post-season interview slightly cringy, like blowing smoke up Khaldoon and SM's backside instead of asking him some un-rehearsed questions, respectfully, and expecting some straight-forward answers in return??
Be interesting if the crowd on here could give him 5 or 10 questions without notice.

Don't know what some people want. He's chairman of a multi-billion pound business, he isn't going to talk on camera like he's a fan sat in Mary D's after we lost in the derby ranting with his mates.

It'll be the standard, express disappointment at the trophyless season, praise the previous years success to deflect, vow to come back hungrier than ever to reclaim our titles. Reflect on kdb's legacy. praise the academy players coming through to the first team. Mention the continued academy success, briefly skirt around how they have listened to fans with regards to ticketing and that's about it.

Does he need a script writer?
Don't forget the woman's team and that club we bought in Swaziland.

First ten minutes will be a KDB back-slapping fest.
Next ten how we are building for the future with the new stand and new squad acquisitions with new head of recruitment.
That leads into the final ten minutes which will be a Bergiristan back-slapping fest with montages of El Mago, Yaya, Vinny and Aguero banging in the goals.

The second part will be focussed on the youth team, women’s team and CFG in general. Emphasis will be put on how the club continues to develop across all its platforms/franchises.

The phrase “you ain’t seen nothing yet” will be spoken last with Khaldoon looking directly into the camera, forefinger pointing down the lens right at the viewer. It will freeze at that point and a Colgate ‘ring of confidence’ will flash around Khaldoon’s smiling chops.
The End.

I don't expect there'll be a question like "Mr Chairman, it's been obvious there's significant fan unrest about engagement, ticket pricing and the club's seemingly laissez-faire attitude to who they sell tickets to. How do plan to address these issues?"
You're probably right PB.

But let's give Khaldoon the benefit of our doubt.

He might surprise us.

He definitely needs to admit to, and to address the fan unrest, the reasons behind it, and what he and the club are going to do about it next season, and into the future, so it doesn't happen again.

I don’t for one minute think that is going to happen, but would love to be proven wrong.

I don't want to hear Khaldoon waffling shite about our clubs within the CFG. I'm not interested as I only support this club. I want to hear him talk about fans that have been priced out and what the club plan on doing in looking after proper supporters. Something he briefly mentioned at the end of last year's two part talk.

But Chris Bailey will most probably be suckholing him easy loaded questions, yet again : /

Can't see it happening JRB. The brush and carpet will be at the ready.

Khaldoon briefly touched on it during last seasons interview. He tried to justify the season ticket and match day ticket price increases.

Reported in the MUEN.

Al Mubarak addressed criticism from supporters at a rise of five per cent in season ticket prices for next season and explained why the decision had been made in his end-of-season interview with club media.

But Al Mubarak also stressed the need to raise prices to continue boosting revenues that can be reinvested into the team, which continues to achieve unprecedented on-field success.

"This is a very delicate issue for sure. I appreciate the feelings of our fans when it comes to a very important aspect, which is the price of a ticket," said Al Mubarak.

"I want to try to explain this very difficult balance that there is always tension between investing, growing, meeting more demand, being sustainable and financially viable, and at the same time, taking care of our core fan base and making sure they have affordable tickets and they continue to enjoy their football in the way they always have.

did CFG clubs do well this time? I dont know, Girona and Troyes did not do well for sure.
Girona struggled a lot in La Liga and in the CL while it was huge they qualified, they had not much in the league stage.
1 win , 7 losses in 8 games.
but kind of expected as they lost good players in the summer and not much recruitment. not sure how this CFG works, how much we want the likes of Girona to be a powerhouse in La Liga for example lets say in next 5 years. or is it ok if they sometimes punch above their weight otherwise enough to avoid relegation etc.
with Tebas there we probably couldnt to much bankrolling but in France with Troyes we may could. get them to put a big shadow on PSG lol :)

I couldn’t even name them all mate, never mind tell you how they did.

They are of no consequence at all to Manchester City and wouldn’t mind if the CFG sold City and let the other clubs stay together in the worldwide network (which seems to have no net at all) and let City be an independent club again with a proper boardroom just for City.

Of course one year it will be his last season review. We talk all the time over player and
manager contract terms and timings plus
Txiki [almost gone]and Soriano too but less
so with Khaldoon, as he is so close to SM.

Khaldoon is all about overcoming challenges, problem solving as well as long term strategy. The video might be bland but all the real action is happening off camera.

I hope he mentions victories in the APT cases and playing a blinder in getting Omar Berada to the rags. He will acknowledge under performance on the pitch but won't dwell on it. He won't be trying to define what constitutes a season card for an hour either.

I hope Khaldoon increases confidence that we will be more competitive on the pitch next season and signals the new stand will increase the number of affordable tickets in the ground. He will mention Nico's breakthrough season and KDB's legendary status. He could get a quick win by announcing the re-launch of the Junior Blues.

He will mention the imminent (expected) FSR legal outcomes / news of the decisions if in the public domain.

I think the idea is to pool resources ie. If something works for one club in the group those ideas can be shared. Similar for players. We’ve loaned players out to CFG clubs and no doubt that will continue. We’d also have first dibs on any player deemed good enough to play for us. There’s more advantages than disadvantages as far as I know or at least that’s how City spin it.

That's a key issue for me with the CFG.

When they removed 'FC' from our name, they turned our club into just another asset owned and run by non-football, land grabbing businessmen.

Are you writing his script Tim? ;-)
