Incident at Liverpool Title Parade May 26th

Looks to me like someone has ended up onto the parade route by accident, cars been whacked a few times by the fans and he's lost his head and made a crazy decision to step on the gas into the crowd. Life over from one mad decision he won't last a week in any jail with Scousers. Hope all injured make a full recovery thoughts with them.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but here's what the driver SHOULD have done. Stopped the car. Got out and shouted he was sorry, no idea how he ended up stuck here, I fucked up. Laughed and started singing champions or something similar. That would have deescalated the situation quickly and probably got the crowd onside. As I said hindsight eh?

Lack of experience in organising parades will ultimately be the reason given after a protracted enquiry into this shambles. The solution was surely to draft in Greater Manchester police , who have successfully organised parades over numerous years, or they could have just had a barbeque.

There are reports of bodies stuck under the car
With Merseyside Police confirming a young child and 3 others were under the car and the vivid horrific footage a lot of us have seen and have commented or wished not to comment the scale of this tragedy unfolding and the information to come during today can we as blues continue to post with dignity and respect and above all pray for those affected. I have been awake nearly all night traumatised by what I saw in this footage we can only touch on what the families and friends of the people injured and seriously injured are going through.

Saw one or two of the videos and there were lots of shouts to kill the driver rather than concern for the injured. Whilst the driver deserves what’s coming to him and more, the thirst from some for summary justice over everything else is sad to see, and the police shouldn’t have to be wrestling with people who just want to attack the driver.
At that point most people will be assuming it was a deliberate terrorist attack, what do you expect them to do?

He could have started the car again, jumped out with a weapon or detonated a bomb.
It had the hallmarks of a terrorist attack.

The incident happened at around 6pm as the parade ( Which started sometime after 2pm ) was ending, which probably explains why hundreds are walking in the road as the police/stewards start removing barriers and opening them up again. In another video I've seen you can see barriers stacked up.
It looks like the car has somehow ended up amongst the crowd, probably by thinking, "Oh the roads open I'll cut through here" then realising he's fucked up as he's in the middle of hundreds of people. He starts beeping his horn to move them and people get angry thinking "What the fuck is he doing driving here?" He starts trying to nudge them out of the way increasing their anger and also his frustration and anger. As he bumps people they start attacking the car, one person opens his door. One man behind him is especially angry trying to kick his back window in. The driver reversed into him pushing him back. He then picks something up and throws it, probably smashing his rear window ( Visible in later pictures as the car is stopped. )
It escalated very badly from there.

Fella with the bag on.

Ffs what an absolute bell end.

Easy thing to say but sadly if he steps outside the car and someone starts laying into him, others join in and he is soon in big trouble, looks like a horrible set of circumstances have led to blind panic and a total loss of rational thinking on the drivers part and a truly awful conclusion.

He is actually following at least 1 more car too!

Was involved in a near-crush near Mosley Street during the Treble Parade. Not nice at all.
An accident waiting to happen. One day someone will need urgent medical attention and the medics wont be able to get through the crowd. Needs to be better organised before "lessons will be learned " needs to be said again .OR maybe hold at the ground say three sittings of 50,00 fans . The team can rest in their luxury dressing rooms whilst the fans are let in and out and would probably take no longer than the slow crawl through the City Centre

Read the news, there were fault on both sides. BUT IN NO WAY JUSTIFIES RUNNING PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY KIDS DOWN! And your concern was who punches a car???!!! Who drives people down??!!! Get your priorities straight bud.
The person DELIBERATELY punched the car -the mowing down of people may well have been a panicking , frightened driver who had strayed into the wrong area

Oh I agree. Once he'd angered the crowd by beeping and bumping them it had probably gone too far to do that. If as @ysmsa says he was following another car and that had no problems, it looks like he was just being an entitled dickhead angry at being held up and got angry with devastating consequences.

Yeah, if my car was getting battered by all sorts, from an angry mob I would defo get out of the car and try to reason with them. He will be wishing he done that of course and we all wished that was the case. Sadly rational thinking leaves you when in that mindset. Scared for his own safety he has brainless put others in danger. It is a complete shitshow which could have been avoided and everyone needs to be held accountable. Liverpool fans included.

I’ve been on many shut off marathon and half marathons and seen cars get stuck and moving along our route. Its very hard to organise and police every single aspect of long mile stretches.
It might not be straightforward, but it’s the responsibility of the authorities to sort it when there are hundreds of thousands of people on the streets. Whilst this might not have been a terrorist, it could very well have been and this was preventable.
