Forget Trump & Putin - China is the biggest threat to Europe.

It is something, but you will just get on with it regardless as you follow your leader.

And, if that’s what you voted for, absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Don't have much choice.

Being a Chinese feels like living in a big machine. It's not even leader's choice. You have a sense of how the machine works. It's based on the stable narrative of everything.

And it doesn't provide "emotional value", it doesn't make you feel good, or bad. It's so stable that even you have some emotional personal opinion about something, there is always a voice in your head reminds you what the formal, rational, collective decision should be.

Slightly unrelated but a few years ago house next door sold to a Chinese couple, last year the house to the other side sold to a Chinese family.
We have just sold our house to yes you guessed it a young Chinese family, the guy looks in his 20s his wife even younger but is a cash buyer all legit mind you as we move in a few weeks.
Really nice couple
Our estate agent said 75 percent of everything they’ve sold last 6 months have been Chinese buyers.
We even had 2 offers previously that fell through both Chinese buyers.
Point I’m making is where have the they all of a sudden come from?
I have absolutely no problem with Chinese people as both sides of us are really nice
Just wondered if this mirrors anywhere else in the area/country.
I live south Swinton btw.

I'm a postie, suddenly on one of the new build estates I deliver on approx 40% of the street has been bought by Chinese families, most living next door to each other. Really strange. Never seen that before. Sometimes 1 or two houses near to each other will have the same nationality, but never near-whole streets. Lovely people though, they are always polite and hence so am I.

Fusarium graminearum is ranked among the five most destructive fungal pathogens that affect agroecosystems.

A major threat to U.S. agriculture and food safety.

Agroterrorism is the deliberate introduction of detrimental agents, biological and otherwise, into the agricultural and food processing system with the intent of causing actual or perceived harm.

Chinese Nationals Charged with Conspiracy and Smuggling a Dangerous Biological Pathogen into the U.S. for their Work at a University of Michigan Laboratory.

United States Attorney Gorgon stated: “The alleged actions of these Chinese nationals—including a loyal member of the Chinese Communist Party—are of the gravest national security concerns. These two aliens have been charged with smuggling a fungus that has been described as a ‘potential agroterrorism weapon’ into the heartland of America, where they apparently intended to use a University of Michigan laboratory to further their scheme.”

“These individuals exploited their access to laboratory facilities at a local university to engage in the smuggling of biological pathogens, an act that posed an imminent threat to public safety."

...devastate our agricultural economy and cause harm to humans; especially when it involves a researcher from a major university attempting to clandestinely bring potentially harmful biological materials into the United States.

According to the Associated Press -

A Chinese scientist entered the U.S. last year with a toxic fungus stashed in his backpack...

In July 2024, Liu was turned away at the Detroit airport and sent back to China after changing his story during an interrogation about red plant material discovered in his backpack...

He initially claimed ignorance about the samples but later said he was planning to use the material for research at a University of Michigan lab...

The FBI said authorities found a scientific article on Liu's phone that was titled, "Plant-Pathogen Warfare under Changing Climate Conditions.

The FBI said Liu replied: “Once this is done, everything else will be easy.”

Months later, in February, FBI agents visited Jian at the campus lab. She said, “100% no,” when asked if she had been assisting Liu with the pathogen at the lab. The FBI said it found a signed statement on her phone expressing her support for the Communist Party of China.

Messages between the two in 2024 suggest that Jian was already tending to Fusarium graminearum at the campus lab before Liu was caught at the Detroit airport, the FBI said.

Liam has something to say.

He's planning on touring Korea. "Chingchong" is quite a modern Korean greeting, first recorded in 1895 during the last years of the Joseon dynasty. It means "Wealth & wisdom [to you]." Liam Gallagher isn't just a shit musician, but a world-renowned Professor of Linguistics & Semiotics. Complaints are just typical anti-western casual bigotry.

Not a big deal. If you dislike people from a certain country, of course you'd try to say something offensive. It's only human nature. You hate others and others hate you. That's just how the world is.
