Martín Zubimendi

Why is he cheaper than Nico Gonzalez ?

I don't think he is? Think Nico was reported as £50m but might be wrong. Close either way.

I'd guess mainly that Zubimendi's was a release clause that had been in place a while, and was probably agreed to be achievable as he was t at a fashionable club.

Older, more of a dm and plays for a smaller club.

And he was not signed in Jan
"Smaller club" than Porto? La Liga is a better league than the Portuguese league. It's just my opinion but if you threw Real Sociedad in to the Portuguese league they'd probably be near the top every year. They've been in a European competition 5 of the last 6 years.

That club has produced some very good players. Xabi Alonso, Antoine Griezmann, Mikael Oyarzabal, and had a number of other very good to world class players player there.

Nico went from Barcelona to Porto. That isn't exactly a step up, is it?

and we've got a special early window too
...put me down as a moaner if we don't get somebody over the line in those extra ten days.
I said weeks ago on here that Arse were doing their transfer business early and got called out for it.

This one particularly grates as I rate him as a player and he will improve them.

Wtf are City up to???

Porto are ranked 18th in Europe and Sociedad are 32nd.

They have won the CL twice and Europa league twice.

They have more fans and higher attendance

I would argue they are seen as a bigger club.

Argue all you wish but you will be doing it woth yourself. I'm not arguing.

I was simply making a statement that Real Sociedad isn't small time. Are they a huge club? No way. Should they be overlooked by other La Liga teams. No. Maybe this season but in general, not really.

They won the Champions League a generation + ago. One Europa League title the same and one 15 years ago, of I recall correctly. Yeah. Historically, they have had European success. I agree. I'm not saying they are small time.

Sociedad are not a small club they are bit like Everton a team with rich history but still the 2nd team in the region.

I just think teams like Ajax, PSV, Benfica, Sporting and Porto are bigger than mid table teams in the stronger leagues.
