Only 30mHe only solves our homegrown/club trained quota and may be a back up to haaland which we may need. But we already have marmoush and possibly Rodrigo.
I always get confused20% sell on so we get 6M from the deal
Money and fame. Who knows. He might get injured when playing for brentford or palace. I would move to Chelsea right away too. Even if it doesn’t work out he can go 1 lvl below to palace or brent .Don't like this move for him. Liked the idea of him waiting for Brentford and Palace to clear out their strikers and replace one of them at a bigger club where he can still grow his game. I think this is one step too far for him right now.
Probably keen to avoid another relegation battlelooks like Newcastle or Chelsea could be his move, just had a peak on rag cafe and he wants European football, there expecting to be turned down by him
A slip of the tongue?I see the pros of getting him, and I do like him as a player. I had just hoped we would add some much needed experience to the squad, and going someone ready made like Osimhen would have been perfect as he strikes 2 birds with 1 stone - we get experience at the top level and a top striker.
Delap is more of a wait and see how he develops, and also how he handles playing for a big club. Jackson was a 'wait and see if he develops' signing 2 years ago and he's been decent, showed flashes of what he could potentially become, but he's still not the guy we can rely on for a consistent source of goals. Delap feels like another signing like that. There's every chance he only hits 10 goals next season and the message will rightly be, he needs time, he's young and inexperienced, and that's precisely why I think he isn't the striker we need.
Absurd if true.Talk of 10 years 200k a week.
No I don’t think you should. Neither are proven in a good league whereas Delap is and has scored goals and looked good, align this with playing for Maresca and I think you’ll have a potential new Drogba.Do you not think Chelsea should aim higher though?
With Gyokeres, Osimhen potentially being on the market. Delap seems like yet another player that is still developing. We have a lot of those 'need time and patience' players.
A slip of the tongue?
Scores 1 in 3. Not bad for a youngster, but it remains to be seen whether he's going to improve on that. And for a top team, you need to be getting at least 1 in 2 these days. Definitely worth a punt, but not worth a 10 year contract on world class money.I think he is a bit overrated. Decent striker in a relegated team
The only appeal is the price because it’s a release clause
Chelsea are a basket case of a club as well
