Khaldoon's End of Season Review 2025

Think people expect absolute mud slinging and calling out every fucker to speak bad of us with these end of season reviews. The man is too clever to get involved with any of that, the odd dig is as good as you’ll get from him ie the KDB fee remark.

The man could honestly make me part with my last tenner he talks that well, so glad he’s the big dog of this club.

Getting into the CL is an achievement, a massive one? With 5 places up for grabs? We have different expectations. You cannot celebrate fa cup semis and finals if you don't win them. Getting to them is not an achievement.
It was a disappointing season but we still managed to secure Champions League football and that is materially important to the club, players and fans for all manner of reasons.

Everyone has took the piss out of Arsenal for getting to the CL semi, battering Madrid on the way and rightly so because ultimately it counted for nothing. Just as reaching finals and losing them. If you get to a final and play a team that has never won a trophy and finished 12th in the league, you have to win it, if you then lose (which can happen and did) then simply getting to said final should not be celebrated.
Agreed and he certainly wasn't celebrating it.

So basically if City don't win everything every year its a waste of time and we are crap.

Meanwhile back in the real world City have managed to qualify for the premier European competition for the 15th year running. Despite major injuries to at least half the squad. Plus a £350 million stadium upgrade and tying the manager down to a new 2 year deal...as well as our star striker signing for 9. Oh and the balloon dor winner missed 90% of the season through injury...reported break up of a 30 year marriage and all the stress that entails...115 charges from the jealous competition...loss of form for one or 2 who could be going through life problems...the director of football retiring...got to a cup final...etc.etc...multiple good things happening at City....but but...its not fair we didn't win...its my ball and I'm going home boo hoo.

And yet one might ask how we made such a mess of the ticket pricing and season ticket availability.

IMO City's Chairman is evidently a very good operator but some of the day to day management of MCFC could be improved upon. That's the job of the CEO.

If we won the FA cup and finished 6th I’d have been gutted. Third is very decent (even without trophies) considering the struggle we’ve had this year.

Recognising it as an achievement isn't the same as celebrating it

So it’s no good reaching a final if you lose? So we have to win everything or you are unhappy. That’s not City’s problem.

Some people make you laugh ? Manchester City in the past 12 years have doubled our Club honours and won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Super Cup, Club World Cup, in the same calendar year.

Fair point, not sure how that even gets addressed. I’m pretty sure his prerogative isn’t to just fuck local fans over, if the product is struggling he has to bring cash in to improve it, especially with FFP etc limiting owner funding.

Don't know what some people want. He's chairman of a multi-billion pound business, he isn't going to talk on camera like he's a fan sat in Mary D's after we lost in the derby ranting with his mates.

It'll be the standard, express disappointment at the trophyless season, praise the previous years success to deflect, vow to come back hungrier than ever to reclaim our titles. Reflect on kdb's legacy. praise the academy players coming through to the first team. Mention the continued academy success, briefly skirt around how they have listened to fans with regards to ticketing and that's about it.

Does he need a script writer?
I think I pretty much nailed it.

The way he talked about "we will have the new team in the Club World Cup" tells me the deals will be done, and a few are already done— the first or second choices, no third choice for once!

I know it's not his style, but he could at least have a sword or an axe in his hand whilst saying "I WILL HAVE A LOT TO SAY ONCE THE VERDICT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED

As someone who grew up wishing to just once get the chance to see us play at Wembley, to have a day out with 30,000+ other blues, and getting very excited at a Gillingham play off final, let’s just say we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

A day out at a Cup final is usually great, and even better if you win.

We aren't small time anymore mate, we are a top club and expectations shift to match that. Being as shit as we was holds no relevance to today. I was there too. I remember being outside of Wembley for a gig saying to a mate, I'd love to watch us here once. We have been spoilt. It doesn't mean this season should be sugar coated and things labelled a success that aren't. If you got told at the start of the season, we would scrape CL football on the last game, a season where 5 teams get in, win nothing, compete in no other competition but get to an fa cup final and lose to Palace, you'd think I took happy pills. My original point was Khaldoon almost celebrating failure.

Yeah? Agree with you, I wouldn't start listing 7 semis on the trot and such like as an achievement though off the back of a disappointing season. Scarping in the cl spots with 5 places up for grabs was surely the bare minimum from our start of season expectations.
