It’s negotiations because Milan have no foot to stand on. They don’t have Europe, they have financial difficulties so they need money to bring in the players their new manager needs.

yeah, got this down as definitely. 'new' squad though was pure a PR statement imo
Indeed, the whole interview is a PR spiel. I interpreted that comment more in the sense of 'new beginnings'. The squad that was allowed to complete the domestic season was the old guard, in some cases literally, and while the CWC is more a suffix to the season gone, it will feature those who represent the future, including, hopefully, new faces.

Yeah, its coming but it'll be end of July before we see it take shape. Just too many to shift. Lets go though.

He's a hell of a cheerleader for someone who talks so calm. You can see when him & pep do this sort of thing why players run through walls for them

I know it’s a negotiation but fuck me, how tedious is it when everybody knows the first bid will be rejected?! Then we won’t follow up with a new bid for a few days.

Hopefully we move quicker for the CWC.

I think it will be sorted today mate, 65m euros was the fee they wanted.

The club are being negligent if they don't negotiate.

I personally won't be pushing them to just pay up any clubs demands, that'd make me a hypocrite complaining about ticket prices.

€5m might not seem significant in a transfer deal but it is in terms of admin wages or balti pies sold at a stadium or discounted FA Cup tickets etc...it is.

If we end up at the asking price sobeit but every club haggles.

Talking of negligent, seem to remember Phillips costing around 55 million euros, so the Milanese will probably be thinking they can shake us down for a bit more.

Don't think they'll accept less than the ~€70m (with add ons) they got for Tonali for a much better player.

Suppose it depends on how fucked they are for money

Think Milan's financial troubles are exaggerated, at least according to their fans. Can see this being done for 75-80m euros, including add-ons
