North Stand Construction Discussion

Great videos both CP and SS. If you do manage to get any of the last 3 or 4 and beam sections being fitted, worth taking a bit of time on the connection and how they slot over. Clevely the longer sections have two access holes on the west side and the shorter ones similar positions on the east side, for tightening and connecting the bolts. When they then are fully in, the holes are coverd by the opposite overlap. If that makes sense.

Really awkward finicky junction in the facade where the hotel steps in height on the obtuse angle, and the parapet smacks into the corner glazing (yet to be installed). One to watch how they finish.

When do we think the old roof will be removed?

Can't be long now with the pitch covering having gone down.

They need to strip the panelling off first.

Potentially they could start pulling the beams down which have already been stripped rather than wait until they’ve all been done.

They’ll then use the mobile cranes to secure the beams while someone detaches them from the cable net support. When they’ve done that they’ll be able to pull the beams down and place them on the pitch.

The gantry for the mewps is still straddling the beams, snd they are still using that to connect the last of the new roof end pieces. Looks like that will be happening almost simultaneously with the old kalzip stripout, and then once the new roof is in place the gantry will go snd then the old beams. One big game of chicken and egg.
