Drinking Tap Water

I've pretty much only drank water for at least 15 years. Used to be fine drinking tap water so long as it was chilled, I'd have a few bottles that I'd just refill with tap water and stick them in the fridge.slowly shifted towards predominantly bottled stuff over the years. Fairly recently tried going back to tap water, couldn't drink it anymore though, had a funny taste to it. I used to have a filter, might try that again as I know bottled stuff is a waste of money.

As standards slip across the board i can see the argument for bottled potentially.

At that point probably just easier to f off to somewhere better managed. People moan about "Karens" but without their incessant complaints about mundane problems then you get streets full of litter.

Lovely water here at the Glasshouse Mountains. Very soft. Don't like hard water. We're blessed we live in countries that have safe tap water.

Nowt wrong with tap water. I've been drinking corporation pop for decades, and it's never done me any harm.

Interestingly, if bottled water came out of the tap, the water company supplying it would be facing prosecution because it wouldn't be up to the required standard.

Different regulations for different products. Neither are unsafe to drink, but the stuff coming out of the tap is a lot cheaper than the stuff in a bottle, so it makes sense to me if I'm having a day out to fill a bottle from the tap rather than buy the overpriced offerings in a shop somewhere.

In the UK sourcing water from the cold tap in the kitchen is absolutely fine. I wouldn't drink water from any other tap though. As for those water dispensers built into fridges - absolute death traps.

There seems to be a small but growing opinion that the tap water up here in the North East is not fit for drinking. No idea where that has sprung up from really but given we are mostly probably fed from Kielder I'd say its bollocks. I do think its harder water than that we got in Gods own country Lancashire which was soft and highly palatable but its softer than I had the other week down in Christchurch up here so not an issue.

As I have said previously we have had 7 new estates built around here in about 5 years and there are a lot of Southern accents you hear presumably folk who have moved up from Darn Sarrf and suffered Thames waters shite and are still buying loads of bottled water ( see them leaving supermarkets with trolleys full of bottled water ) but as far as I can see the tap water is fine - plus its all from the same source so we flush our bogs with drinking quality water so its probably safer to drink from the bowl than from a tap in Flint Michigan.

Is it just something else vaccine deniers and flat earthers are latching on to now?
The pure crystal waters percolated through our native millstone grit flows through Stockport's taps - we don't have a meter so perhaps I should bottle and sell it to the southern migrants.

You think bacterial growth in sub 2 degrees is more harmful than room temp pipes so long as regular flow is observed?
