Is it the change of coaching arrangements or just different personnel? Jennings is transformed.Another win
Keep em coming lads!

Australia were pretty average during the Gower/Botham captaincy years. Windies on the other hand were the best team by a mile during that eraDidn't Gower and Botham keep having the great West Indies team and Australia? Sometimes the other lot are just better!
Roughly about the same as that pivotal John Stones clearance against Liverpool thenA centimetre or so from being out very early on

Like you say, that was the 90s mate. Back in the 80s Australia were nothing special though in the test arena for the most part. I'd argue that they only started to come good during the 1989 Ashes series where they walloped us on our own patch 4-0 and that kick-started their period of dominanceWarne and McGrath vs Dean Headlry and Robert Croft.
Hard for Atherton or Stewart to do anything as captains in the Ashes in the 90s.
Alderman and Hughes were still better than our bowlers.Like you say, that was the 90s mate. Back in the 80s Australia were nothing special though in the test arena for the most part. True, but as a team they were pretty wank during much of the 80s. We even beat them over there in the 86/87 seriesAlderman and Hughes were still better than our bowlers.
Border, Taylor and Boon better batsman too.
I'm guessing you're just talking test captains, because Eoin Morgan was a fantastic captain for the white ball side.
Completely fell off a cliff when he retired
Absolutely, but worst captain's than Root Imho

I think it goes back to wanting to pick someone who's guaranteed to be in the team to be captain though, Morgan never quite found his form in test cricket. Trying to think back, but he can't have played more than 10 or so test matches for England.Eoin Morgan should have been the test captain as well
