It's Quiet the £250m return

So Bayer rejected another bid from Liverpool for wirtz.

Is there really, absolutely no chance for us to just slap the money to bayer right now? It will either force liverpool to leave the table where we then can force ourself in or this will make liverpool go panic mode and up their bid which is also good.

Will the board make the bold move here? Liverpool did this with the caicedo deal.

No.

If Wirtz has turned us down then offering any amount of money as a transfer fee won't make a difference, and just appears desperate.

We've moved on to Cherki and by all accounts, that should be wrapped up soon.

We do push the boat out but only for players who CLEARLY want to play for us.

I think we all know by that they’ve decided on Cherki.

No , we’ve signed or in the process of getting Reijnders, Cherki and Ait nouri for less than what Leverkusen wanted for Wirtz.

Seems like we are doing a PSG and buying a new team full of Good/great players than a single superstar player.

From what his national team manager is saying, it was City's suggestion for Kovacic to have surgery, once the season ended, with a 3 month recovery. Not a chance we suggest that if they were thinking of selling him. They would have waited and seen how the summer goes and if bids come etc, specially as it is an injury that was 'managed' up until then. Think he has been and remains in the plans for next season.

I agree, and not that I would want to see us trynat this point.

But then, we did randomly bid 95m for Declan Rice when it was clear he had been similarly ringfenced by arsenal, wanted to go there, and they were far on in the negotiating process.

Not saying we should or that I would hope we would, just pointing out that one was a random oddity.

Possible. We might also have made a deal that he can have the summer off to recuperate and still move to Saudi Arabia (Sept 2) if our other pieces fall into place.

Taken from the Newcastle Chronicle. That’s interesting

“Newcastle United enter this summer's transfer window with money to spend, but with the knowledge that they need to sell to top up any transfer budget”

Even if it bumps the price liverpool have to pay up a bit it is worth doing it

They need to get to 130m for the 3 targets they want i think. Wonder where they are at.

Fabrizio saying Livramento deal will be difficult

Well they got CL football now and it was always going to be difficult doing any deal with them as they have high ambitions.

Bruno was 100 and Livramento is younger and homegrown so that would be 100 as well.

We quickly moved from MGW as of now and dealing with Newcastle is going to be a pain as well.
Since we want to conclude our business asap
I don’t see us completing both MGW and Livremento signings. That’s an outlay of minimum 160 million £ and protracted negotiations.

I hope we move to other targets and find some other way to cover that home grown quota.
