anyone worried about his defending? Wolves fans not convinced about his ability to defend in a back 4, even though they adore him and consider him leaving to be more devastating than Cunha to the rags.
Yea a little but honestly the modern full back is supposed to be offensive, we play better when our full backs are high and wide, and he's suited to that

Yea hell suspect defensively but we need someone comfortable on the ball in tight spaces and someone who can overlap and make space, he has that

Just means Gvardiol will have to do a lot of defending but that's nothing new

Mendes spends half his time in the offensive 3rd and PSG just blew away everyone in Europe

When you say 'like all of our defense', who do you mean?
Khusanov? Gvardiol? Nunes? Akanji? Stones? O'Reilly?

All the above are above average speed to vert fast for a defender. Im confused. There ais more to our defense than Dias, Akw and Lewis you know
Well, if we take out O’Reilly and Nunes, because they aren’t defenders and if we are to improve they can’t play there..

Stones will be sold or will be injured, so I’d say Kushanov is the one with real pace, but I get the feeling it will probs be gvardiol and Dias first choice, who are good defenders but are bit slow. It’s nice to have full backs with pace to cover them?

I like ait nouri from a footballing viewpoint. It’s not all bad. I think he’s a decent signing, but yeah, think he lacks that acceleration.

That same scouting team has been behind extremely poor recruitment over the last few years. Posters can question their doubts on a footballing forum if they have reservations. It doesn't count for anything but if a city forum isn't a place for this type of discussion what is?
Thank you.

It’s like I walked into his fan club, not a transfer thread full of all sorts of opinions.

I’ve actually said he’s a decent signing.

I rate this signing a lot. He’ll be the best left back we’ve had in a long time. It also means Pep does actually see Gvardiol as a CB which is good news - you can never be sure.
That Pep. Always trying to scare us with his crazy ideas :) Im glad he sees Gvardiol as a CB too.

Thank you.

But that's because you're talking bollocks. You complained about his pace then someone shared a statistic showing he's faster than Gvardiol (our current left back, who isn't slow anyway).

£50m for him is massively overpriced

I was hoping around 35 million pounds myself. Aa someone who doesn't rate fullbacks, i hate these high prices. But weren't we pondering 67 million for Cambiasso in January?

That felt like a potential highway robbery. But let's see what it ends up being.

Our scouts get things badly wrong, as we know.

I hope they’re all brilliant, but there are some niggling doubts on one or two.
This must be a wind up haha

If it isn’t, you’ve got to stop digging a hole and doubling down, it’s alright to admit you’re wrong.

That's because not rating fullbacks isn't a thing, just something you've made up.It can be as valuable as any other position and worth as much.

Do they? Who would you identify, of the players who cost a bit of money and didn't get sold on for what we paid or more, did the scouts get badly wrong? I reckon it's these:

Disaster: Mangala, Philips, Mendy (hardly the scouts fault), Bony, Jovetic (due to injury)

Never good enough: Sinclair, Rodwell, Gomez, Angelino, Nastasic, Garcia

Underwhelming: Nunes, Fernando, Navas, Torres, Grealish (for the money), Danilo, Nolito

For my money (and I might have forgotten a couple) that's all of shite signings since the infamously terrible transfer window of in the 12/13 season. And even some of these played an important role at times. The rags would manage that level of failure in a couple of transfer windows.

Yeah but if you are negative about everything City do , City fans will ask questions.
Our recruitment could lead many blues feeling negative though, I love city, season ticket holder but I am a miserable bastard and pretty negative in general not just with City. Some of us are just that in nature

Kylie Walker was £50 million and that turned out ok. On the other hand Mendy did not.

Our recruitment, best measured by trophies, leads me to thinking we are one of the best at recruitment.

A bit like the Nico Gonzales deal, which did drag. We will work out with wolves the best finances as they can buy the 50% sell on back for 8.5m.

Thank you.

But you constantly refer to the lad as not having much pace which has been shown and proved to you to be incorrect, so that is complete bollocks and yet you still harp on about it.
