Just watched his goals from the treble season and bloody it’s like we have a new player now . ATM he’s a shadow of that guy .
He was making runs back then aswell . I feel next season he will cone back better .Different team.
Super prime Kevin De Bruyne
Backed by actually useful Grealish,Bernardo n Foden
Healthy Rodri
Cancelo was also there , Mahrez too
Creating a lot of chances, quality ones,
Something we lacking since the day
To me, He just isnt that player from 22/23, it seems mentally he’s struggling tbh. Hes never scored in a final and he gives the penalty Omar?? I think all his career, he was the “next superstar in line” everyone said he’s potentially gonna win multiple balondors. Now, he’s never mentioned in those conversations, that must be a blow to the ego. the fear factor from opposition is definitely gone. That’s not good
The quality of his movement and positioning has dropped dramatically which is why it's impossible to get the ball to himIs he missing lots of chances ? No, the quality of the passes to him has dropped dramatically...feed the Viking and he will score !!
Absolute nonsenseThe quality of his movement and positioning has dropped dramatically which is why it's impossible to get the ball to him
come on, watch his play, focus on him and see how he always manages to find himself in the wrong place in the box. he barely makes any runs anymore, doesn't peel away from defenders. he's never in the position to get the ball or score. watch some of his goals from the start of the season, the delivery is the same he's just not doing anything anymoreAbsolute nonsense
I mean yea but by himself he was an alienDifferent team.

I’ve got some bad news for you …I hope Erling Haaland studies Dembele's performance against Inter tonight.
That's how a proper centre forward plays in a team.

Haaland is an issue at the moment. Both him himself, and the other players and our all-round tactics when it comes to him.
When Divin Mubana played against Salford, I thought his movement and willingness to make runs was very refreshing to watch compared to Haaland just standing still up front all the time. When Haaland was out injured recently, I thought our style and tactics were better suited to the whole rest of the team compared to when Haaland is there and we were much better to watch. His lack of movement, reluctance to make near post runs when that’s the clear run+ball that’s on, and reluctance to challenge for headers at goal when they’re not quite in his favour are getting on my nerves. Plus, like most people, I was massively disappointed with him in the FA Cup final.
Far too often this sort of thing happens, at 1min 8secs and 1min 22secs in this video, where he just doesn’t make a run. We all know Doku lacks quality with crosses and pull backs close to the byline so make it easier for him and make earlier runs when he’s got more time and space to execute the pass:
I think he’s become too nice and too soft on the pitch. Often smiling, joking and patting his markers on the back like he wants to be their mate. Where’s his mean streak gone? He also plays like he has no perception of how big he is. Where’s his physicality gone? When he first came he didn’t play like this.
Everyone else is a problem when it comes to him as well. How many times a game do Gündoğan or BSilva or anyone else not release the pass to him when he wants it played into the channel? Our wingers never make runs beyond him (imagine prime Sterling playing with Haaland!) and our attacking midfielders aren’t in and around him when he has his back to goal enough, making it harder for him to lay it off to anyone.
I also just don’t get the salary we’ve put him on at all. David Silva and Agüero were never on wages like this, even comparable to the wages in football a decade ago. De Bruyne took years to be on £400k/wk and that’s still only 76% of what Haaland is now on.
Needless to say, I’m a bit concerned with where we’re going with Haaland.

In the second one, if Doku hangs that up to the back stick it’s a pretty simple finish for HaalandView attachment 158824View attachment 158825
you can't look at this and tell me this is the optimal position for our center forward to be taking in the box for this scenario. How is anyone meant to find him? always behind the defender, always static, slow. doesn't anticipate when the ball will be coming in. always at the edge of the picture.
You can blame doku all you want - he did his job, he beat the defender, he's in a position to put a ball in across the box. but the center forward doesn't do his job of creating chaos in the 6 yard box, confusing the defenders, and being in the right place to receive it.
Team needs to be built round him. Tbh though he doesn’t look happy at all but pep is going to have to change our style and move away from this possession based crab football which has destroyed us this season and if he doesn’t then he he big nan will be off next summer .How can he be when he would get 5+ chances a game in 22/23.
Is he getting the same amount of chances now?? Lucky if he gets 2 and he's told to make room for others who just side to side it.
Now if he was wasteful as Hojlund is, you might have a point but no.
IMO He's not even in the prime of his career yet.. just entering it and we need to do a better job of finding people who can get the ball to him!
We would need a whole other striker to recreate whatever Dembele is playing. Haaland isn’t mobile enough sadly and doesn’t have the same abilities on the ball.I hope Erling Haaland studies Dembele's performance against Inter tonight.

Pep needs to give the ones behind him the freedom.
