9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

I mean it might help if we start providing him with some service. It's just one of the many things we've stopped doing like pressing, passing with movement off the ball etc. The list is bleeding endless at the moment.

Also might help if we had other threats and goal scoring wingers.. who make him not seem like the lone threat!

They have so many games where they just refuse to play it to him centrally. It has to be crossed in after waiting for the defence to get back.

Imagine how insane his numbers would be if he had a David Silva or KDB type fully healthy all season. Or even having 2 fast wingers like Sane and Sterling who could get to the line and square it.

He would get 40+ league goals in the 17/18 team.

Sterling and Sane would've had de Bruyne assist numbers if either of them stayed long enough.

He would have scored between 40 and 45 goals, with the kind of service these four offered that season.
Our wings and midfielders today are incomparable to the offensive force we had then.

Watching the Barca- Atletico game and it shows you the importance of having a backup striker, Sorloth (another Norwegian) came off the bench and won the game for Atletico and he's done that so many times for them this season off the bench, I know I'm constantly repeating it but the stupidity of selling Alvarez and expecting Haaland to do the job by himself was outrageous arrogance, if Txiki wasn't leaving anyway he should've been sacked for it because it was the final straw of what has been crap decision after crap decision in the transfer market over the last two seasons.

Selling Alvarez, signing Mubama from WHU who was on the released list at WHU.

Khaldoon hopefully has a word with Txiki, I kind of agree he would be moved into an easier CFG role if he had not retired. as a sporting director forward planning on transfer and squad building is crucial. Phillips, Nunes, losing Palmer, losing Alvarez. this is the equivalent on squad building level as our last two months of results. its ok to sell players who want to leave. but replacing them with even better is an option, replacing them with just as good also and option but not replacing them, or replacing them with worse is something we decided to do.
