Hmm, yet another one to join the long list of former GPC players and coaches who have failed miserably as managers.
I don’t think it’s fair to say that Carrick has failed miserably at Bore-o.

They were in real danger of relegation, when he took over, and led them to the edge of the playoffs in his first half season.

I think the expectations placed on him were too high, could it’s a few years since they were relegated, and the parachute payments make a great difference.

To be fair he really wasn`t one of the usual Rags and I didn`t dislike the lad. One of the better Rags IMO.

In the same period Sunderland have made the play offs and won promotion without parachute payments.
Luton also managed it in 2023.

Yeah, fair enough.

While I agree that Carrick hasn’t been a runaway success, he’s hardly in the same category as shriek, pig ginger and the gargoyles.

He comes across far better than the aforementioned Rags who would probably have sent Boro into league one.
Shrek has form for this and the others didn't stick around anywhere long enough and were either sacked or walked away before they could.
My issue is he was hyped as the second coming when he got the Boro job by the usual Rag arselickers in the media as is the case with any ex Rag who is given a coaching role.
