PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Exactly what is not true in PB's post?

Nothing. All he said was that it was his understanding. That is clearly true otherwise he wouldn't have posted it. Whether anybody wants to believe it or not is up to them, much like everything else that is posted on here.

We can all weigh up the relative credibilities of @Prestwich_Blue and @BillyShears and who we think their sources are and make our own mind up.

That’s true. I pick Stefan who has repeatedly said that outside of the panel nobody knows for sure. Why wouldn’t you, it’s part of his job to know this stuff and he actually worked at City. There isn’t anyone better qualified on BM on this topic.

It’s just that people are desperate for news that could still be months away.

Darren MacAnthony the Peterborough United boss, is winding up White & Crook up on TalkSport re: 115 ... despite being a Liverpool fan, he's always pretty complimentary about us, and relishes the MCvLiv rivalry that has developed in recent seasons.

Quite refreshing to hear tbh.

People who should know better, pretending they ‘know’ the outcome doesn’t really help matters either.

100% on both points you make.

Saying there isn't anyone better qualified on BM (on this topic) than Stefan is a bit of an understatement!

That's my default position on most football finance or legal matters.
See what Stefan says, does it make sense to me? how does it effect my own view (if i have one).
Usually ends up with me aligning my view with Stefans as i generally know nowt.
Then there are other posters who's views carry weight due to what i've seen them post before.

Of course when it comes to the football itself, all our views are equal. some may be more equal than others of course. and in that respect my own view is ultimately the only one that matters to me.

despite trusting Stefan i still manage to have my own opinion (nothing more) that no one knows for sure yet. not the PL, not City. that the ruling may well be 3 or 4 months from publication. and that City are confident not because they know the ruling but because they know their councils feedback and, perhaps most crucially, because they know they're innocent.

That's probably as good an opinion as anybody else's on here.

On the other hand, I always thought six months was a pretty good timeframe. The longer it goes on with no judgment, the more I am likely to think something else is going on. Doesn't mean I am right, but it's human nature, I suppose.

The corridors of power.
3 reasons why Khaldoon has probably been informed of the ruling.
1, his world standing
2, seriousness of the alleged breaches
3, diplomatic

thanks. i thought 6 months seemed long tbh, but then time ticked by and recently Stefan managed my expectations with the comparison to the Leicester case.
near enough, 2 day hearing with 6-8 weeks for the judgement whereas our hearing was roughly 50 days which could suggest a couple of years to write it up if the maths comparison was that simple. Stefan reigned that view in too.
that's what i'm basing 3 or 4 months on. solely that.

The problem is that football doesn’t seem to go by any real rules, legal or otherwise.

They have created a situation whereby real life rules and limitations don’t seem to apply.

It’s all very hush hush and secret meeting.

So no wonder speculation is rife. The league is merky, hidden in the undergrowth and supremely bias.

So although common sense says agree with Steffan, I can’t help think there is more going on than meets the eye. Simon Jordan knows how it works and that why he is snide at times. The rules can be manoeuvred to get clubs out of trouble, look no further than Chelsea. Common legal sense said they were fucked but the football fraternity found a way out to avoid punishment.

4) and the continued club policy of spending enormous amounts of ackers on transfer fees.
In my humble opinion....

If the club don't know (or are not almost certain) that we have been succesful... then the clubs business in the last 12 months.. ie stadium expansions, mega contracts, multi millions on transfers.... is at best reckless and at worst utterly crazy

And our owners don't do reckless and certainly are not utterly crazy

Agreed. The optics paint a picture. As does the media's reporting of the situation. Let's be real, there are leaks all over the place and all through the same channels whenever there's an anti-City narrative to peddle. There were more than enough people involved in the process and in the room to know the likelihood of which way the case has gone.

If City were bang to rights and/or expected to get hammered with a serious punishment, the giddy kippers on the red shirts side wouldn't be able to contain themselves. We'd have a good idea what was coming, even if not when it was coming.
