PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Why do you keep implying that City know the result? I don’t mean have an idea but actually know?

Where is this coming from?
All I can say is that my understanding is that Big K definitely knows the outcome (as does Masters and the PL board) but the two parties have agreed to delay the formal publication of the outcome at the PL's request, who will not come out of this well.

This bit is pure speculation on my part but my hypothesis is that they need time to quietly headhunt a new CEO.

Probably knew from the start, isn't that why the premier league tried to do deal with us

Surely it's not in City's interest to delay. It's definitely not fair on our fan base.

Only the other day an ex teacher came into my office, someone I hadn't seen for 40 odd years. He saw my City flag etc above my desk and started going on about how City have cheated. I know this won't stop once we are cleared, I'm not that nieve.
I said we haven't seen each other for decades so that's not get into an argument over the red cartel and the pl.

Any thoughts as to why the club would agree to that?

A deal with Brittain maybe?

He may well be a fantasist but he's right.
Correct

However his wording is clever. Nowhere does it say a verdict has been passed. He said he's heard from inside the club we won't be found guilty. However, this is nothing new as the club has always been comfortable believing they won't be found guilty.

We are still a business and it would be poor forward planning to spend beyond our means should we anticipate any kind of punishment that reduces that income. Our guys wouldn't keep spending to save face, I don't think so anyway.
I'm not arguing the club knows it's guilty or is anticipating any kind of punishment and is spending to save face, I dont believe thats the case.
I'm saying that if the club are of the opinion that they are innocent they will most likely work based on the assumption that they will be cleared of what they are being accused of until they hear otherwise. To work in any other way would be expecting a negative outcome, with other words more or less an admission of guilt.

It's not so much about saving face and more about why would the club act like they anticipate a punishment if they believe they have done nothing wrong? I would argue it's not a good business strategy to act like you are guilty of multi hundred million fraud if you are of the opinion you are not.

In my opinion, the club spending lots of money just says they are expecting to be cleared of all or most charges, not that they necessarily know they will be.

Maybe this time City get to interview the new CEO….

I have no reason to believe that City are happy to accept a delay in the publication of the verdict to keep the PL happy, other than it coming from @Prestwich_Blue. But it may make some sense if we can be in the good books of both a new PL management and the IR. Just a thought.

Just deploy the scorched earth tactic mate, there's a reason you haven't seen him for 40 years and not seeing him for another 40 years shouldn't bother you too much :)

Question for the lawyer's.

In this kind of hearing with 130 charges & so much evidence & witnesses cross examined wouldn’t it be the case that you move on to the next charge once it’s glaringly obvious that the truth has been found rather than case for prosecution then case for the defence.

Ive always thought they don’t want to burn the premier league down despite how they know the board are up to the neck in this. I think we know because they heard evidence from both sides & know they can’t lose if judged fairly & they are confident it will be.

They will want a change & Masters has to go, how far this goes I don’t know. In my opinion he should face a prosecution for something……. I’m going to highlight my lack of knowledge but maybe conspiracy to defraud or abuse of position.

If they don't know already, it's still an educated assumption. Our legal team are the best in the business and will be able to make a qualified assessment of our defence. If this is the witch hunt it appears to be, and the evidence is a regurgitation of the UEFA case, then that enables them to be even more confident in their assessment. Those in the room have seen the evidence for and against us, have heard the questions and picked up on the tone or the raised eyebrows or the wording used during the hearing. If this is the black and white case it largely appears to be, they'll have been able to provide City with the comfort needed.

I don't believe we'd invest if we hadn't been given the comfort we needed following the hearing. We're not interested in what the media or twitter say. There's a football club to run and business to be done. We wouldn't jeopardise our future if there was uncertainty as to the result of the case. Khaldoon doesn't seem concerned at all, and he's far too wise to carry out business as usual without contemplated, educated assurances from the lawyers.

And it's not beyond the realms of possibility he in fact does already know the outcome. And again, he's wise enough to see the bigger picture and work with the PL to keep things quiet until the time suits. That might help us have a better environment to work in moving forwards. The club won't want to keep fighting the PL in court the way it is at the moment.

I may be wrong on this but I thought publication had to be agreed by all parties.

Why the fuck didn't you lay into him big style and give him some facts then. Don't let anyone get away with mouthing untruths. Make them feel like the insignificant little know nowts that they are.
