Why is there not a statue of Yaya?

IMHO he deserves one, he was the catalyst that made us great.

When we needed someone to step up, Yaya always stepped up

Should he have a statue?
I agree Rascal, Sky are currently showing Premier League Icons and today Yaya was the subject of a programme. Blimey, he scored some fantastic goals, many I had forgotten. What a player, a giant. Yes, he does, in my opinion.

First, because of his ungratefulness.
Second, because we want statue of Pep one day, don't we? Pep, who doesn't tolerate for bad attitude, and that shit attitude won't ever be in the same place.

If you think his talent is more important the attitude, if you think his talent is more important than trebles, quadruple domestic, many more trophies, and the whole stable culture what Pep has built, go ahead and build his statue by yourself and put it in your front yard.

The moment Man City build his statue is the moment I lost faith in the values of Khaldoon Al Mubarak and our boards. And I'm so glad that they shared my same thought.

It was never about the cake, the trip to AD when his brother was dying which he didn't want to be on. He got a small cake on the plane then SM cut one the size of a pool table celebrating his achievement.

That adds a different perspective but there was other stuff. I prefer to remember those changes with 15 minutes to go when Mancini would put a centre back on and pushed Yaya up the pitch which would confuse the commentators until he scored the inevitable winner. He doesn’t need a statue, he left enough good memories during an exciting time to be a blue.

Pretty sure the reason is because he wasn’t with us for 10 years, isn’t it?

I always thought that was the prerequisite.

Which is why no statues for Zabba, Fernandinho or Joe Hart either, who all made it to nine.

I know Hart was officially at City for 12 seasons, but he was on loan for three of those - so he actually played for us for nine.

I would rather we have a statue for Gareth Barry. 1] Much more consistent (not only glimpses of greatness every now and then whenever in a good mood, apart from that, a lazy a**), 2] always played hard with his heart, 3] no demands, 4] no fucking agent insulting and blackmailing the Club with the player’s knowledge and blessing, 5] a humble human being (not arrogant and unprofessional like Yaya who shamelessly announced in 2015 that he deserved the African Player of the Year Award more than the player who was actually voted the winner that year), and 6] obviously Gareth Barry never had the annual cake episodes. As some suggested, I would also include the likes of Zabaleta as much more deserving of a statue than Yaya. Some on here will never get tired of the same again and again and again. Keep reminding us of “literally” 3 goals and 3 games of Yaya (that in addition to the physical power) during his 8 years tenure at City, and because of that they want us to believe we should have a statue for him?! Get some dignity please, if not for yourselves as fans, get it for the club.

Fair enough. Alan Oakes deserves two statues.

Won us the FA cup in 2011 and a major contribution to winning the league a year later. For this alone he is a legend, but does a statue really matter, I don't think so.

Our club should really have acceded to his demands and given him a large birthday chocolate cake made entirely of ex-lax chocolate. After a few slices of that he would have made a real mega shit H-bomb explosion in his Y fronts. Thanks for reading.
