All football fans lack self-awareness at times, myself included, but to criticise a lack of transparency when supporting the club with the most opaque finances in football surely has to be worthy of a prize.

This is where the wheels come off their delusions of 'big club' grandeur. The fact is, players are not interested in going there unless they are payed well over the going rate. They simply don't realise how far the tables have turned in this respect over the last 15 years or so.
