It's Quiet the £250m return

Would boil some piss thats for sure.

Just not sure we have that much of a need. Josko clearly will be playing LCB a lot next season partnered with Dias. Khusanov definitely in rotation. Then we have the likes of Ake/Akanji that seem uncertain whereas Stones I'd say looks like he's going. Add Bah and Reis (who might be a pivot like Stones as was reported Pep likes him at 6) into the mix and we are stacked at CB.
Ake & Stones can't be relied on due to injuries & if Livramento is unlikely, signing Branthwaite at the same price would resolve this.

We basically played without Ake and Stones Last Season. The club can move on both of them problem is the HG quota. It wouldn’t change anything if they stayed. Ake is lucky to be left- footed and HG but at least Stones has to leave and if a RB joins I’d also give up Akanji who would be hard to sell I assume - considering he has 2 years left and might not wanna leave the club.
In my dream it would just be
RB: Aina/ Livramento, Nunes/Akanji, Lewis
CB: Dias, Gvardiol, Khusanov, Reis, Ake
LB: Nouri + gvardiol/Ake

Akanji is a special case. Khusanov could easily replace him by playing CB and RB. It’s not like akanji has the same passing as Stones or Gvardiol.
Or you give up Nunes instead but make yourself dependent on Livramento like we were with Walker.

Ake was playing with a fracture in his foot. I think he's more reliable than some give him credit for.

With Ait-Nouri coming in, Josko being able to cover LB/LCB and able to play a lot of minutes he'll finally get some rest which is one reason so many players have had awful season in my opinion.

We should sell Stones and Akanji before Ake.

It only be for Ake & Stones (Akanji as well but think he might end up the RB with Nunes, but get RB and then him too)

Jokso/Branth
Dias/Khus

Reis and Alleyne as the 3rd choices . Bah wont be here.
That’s what I’d like to see by the end of the window and why not. Let’s get the purge done and dusted

It just feels like Ake has too many hamstring injuries, mainly because he's sprinting back to stop a counter attack.

Thats good for the left side but who covers on the right. At the moment we've got Nunes & Lewis, neither are fullbacks, Akanji who can be hit n' miss, Kushanov & Dias, who lacks a yard of pace. Branthwaite would also be hg & we could probably get a better price if we chucked in Grealish & Stones

needed surgery on his groin. Played 90 minutes every week since he got back in October.

Had zero injuries last year player 90 mins in 35 PL games. (41 full games in all)

not even close to comparable.

Of course its comparable...so we're just going to ignore his injury history prior to October?

Not even factoring in historically how many less games & comps Branthwaite has played in to Stones, yet still picking up injuries.

He's a decent player, but I don't understand why we would take a chance on a rather injury prone defender when Pep has harped on about having a lack of available players this/last season.

don't agree. He's had two major injuries in 5 years, and played 90 mins 30+ times on the bounce this season and last season.

but agree don't see us buying him :)

How would he help what’s ur line up at the back
Akanji Khusanov & Dias are our RCB options & presuming we don't sign Livramento, Akanji & Nunes would be our RB options leaving an inexperienced Kushanov as cover for Dias. Pep has managed to keep players happy by being able to rotate players to keep them fresh & we have seen in the last season how that hurt us defensively

So where is Branthwaite and no proper RB ?

Have you seen Branthwaite's injury record? Makes Stones look like Ironman.
Branwaithe appeared in 30 league games this year, and 35 last year - his 2 years as a starter.

In his 9 seasons with City, Stones has never appeared in 30 league games. His high is 27 league appearances, and that was in his first season here in 2016. He's only played in more than 20 league games 3 times with us.

When it's in black and white like that it's pretty awful! I knew it was a bad injury record but that's terrible

If a player can't run at full pace for whatever reason, without getting injured what use his he?
