Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think we'd be in for him at all if he didn't want the move. It still feels like a longshot, but considering our RB situation I just don't think we'd waste our time if the player wasn't on board.
And that'll be necessary, because to be fair to Newcastle, they don't need to sell him. It's not like they're floundering mid table and can't offer him Champions League football or a shot at some silverware.
But where there's smoke, there's fire. We'll have to overpay and he'll need to force it (not necessarily publicly) -- but it's a chance to add another young talent and shore up the RB position with a HG player for a decade.
I can't help but think Grealish (or even Stones or McAtee?) could help balance the costs out a bit if they head the other way in a separate transfer. Not that I understand the ins and outs of accounting. Either way, I think it'd be a huge outlay if this does progress.
