It shows how ludicrously insecure they are. I think more people would have respect for them if they were honest and just said "They're paying me £300,000 a week, where else would I get that sort of money?"
They really are an insecure bunch aren't they.

It must be killing them to think there was a time players would be queuing up to join them.

Nowadays they have to pay well over the odds to entice players to the swamp and then have them read out the scripted patter.

It's amazing what people will do for money.

As someone on this forum pointed out in a previous post. Signing for the rags these days is the equivalent of you or I being poached by a rival firm for far more pay and much lesser responsibilities.

Who's going to say no to that? Unless they've got absolutely no ambition whatsoever.

"Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother's house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt. Guess who, today!
“Growing up, my hero was Anderson. I admired how someone so lazy got such a big contract here, so I’m delighted that United noticed I was top of the ‘Most walking per 90 mins’ league and bought me as a result.”

It's embarrassing that the rag hype machine regularly get all their new signings to trot out something as asinine and pathetically arselicking.

But the rags, and everything associated with them, are not renowned for their honesty, modesty or integrity, so their pathetic little spiel is trotted out.

It's utter nonsense all this lifelong and childhood fan of the club bollocks.

The average age of players being signed by the likes of the rags and other premier league clubs is about 23 years of age.

The last time a twenty three year old man witnessed the rags win the premier league they were an eleven year old boy.

How many eleven year old kids do you reckon are watching the filth and thinking "oh, yes. I'm having some of that"
I wouldn’t say it’s impossible.

I first became interested in football at seven, and there wasn’t the blanket coverage that there is nowadays.
